For the past 6 months, Rob and I have patiently been waiting to experience one final event from our wedding day: watching our wedding video. My photographer strongly recommended that Rob and I hire a videographer for our wedding day. He reassured us that it was an investment which we would not regret.
To be completely honest, I was on the fence about this decision for a long time. I was determined to have a wedding portfolio that my family and I would cherish forever, so I hired one of the best photographers in the Metro Detroit area without hesitation. It was an unwavering decision, but it was an investment.
For many months, I scanned sample wedding films from local videographers in the area and debated whether or not to shell out even more money for a video of our day. I didn’t really see the point in having a video. After all, most of my friends and relatives only have photos and I never hear any of them wish that they had a video to accompany their photographs. If I was going to invest anything more in images from my wedding day, I needed to love it. This was an all-or-nothing situation and lukewarm feelings would not suffice.
In all of my searching, I finally asked my wedding planner to refer a few companies to me which I may not have discovered on my own. One of the vendors on her list was Heather Zara from Zara Creative. As I scrolled through their online portfolio, I knew that this was it. I instantly fell in love and knew that I wanted to hire Zara Creative to film our wedding day.
Rob and I have watched the our wedding video several times since we received an instant link last week. Right after Rob and I saw the video, I actually sent it to my Matron of Honor and we Face Timed on our iPhones while she watched the video so I could see her reaction.
I wish I could Face Time with every one of you while you watch our wedding film. If we could watch it together, you would see that I would inevitably cry at the end. In the span of four short minutes, the video perfectly captures every emotion of our wedding day. Six months after saying “I do”, it’s sad how some of the memories have already begun to fade, despite the countless photos I have pored over from that day. Watching our wedding video breathed new life into those memories, helping us relive the day’s overwhelming anticipation and joy. Rob and I will treasure our wedding film for many years to come.
Heather’s team was present for the sweetest, most exciting and deeply touching moments from our big day and we invite you to experience the wedding from our perspective, with a little help from Zara Creative. Enjoy!
In addition to our closest family and friends, many students and parents from my school attended our wedding ceremony. I am so honored that they were witnesses to one of the most important moments of my life. I am particularly thankful for every parent that gave consent and allowed me to share their child’s images on the blog. To our St. Mary family members, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your love and support.

That was truly the most beautiful and one-of-a-kind wedding video I have ever seen! It was definitely worth the wait!
Thank you Andra! I couldn’t agree more!
Awesome video, but only because of the subjects! Your love for each other was so easily captured in the video. Definitely worth the wait…the perfect Christmas gift. You guys are just adorable!
Congratulations again and Merry Christmas from the Schmitt Family.
Just want to say Congrats to one of my ADT RN team’s kids. I’d wish you all the best but looks like you already have it.
Thanks, Cheryl! I did wind up with the best. :-)
I grew up with Heather. She graduated with my brother. So glad you loved her work. She has always been the kindest person.
Love. Love. LOVE that! It captures so much of your special day. Just so you know…..I cried too!

OMG! I was just stalking their sites last week hoping that it was done :) Gorgeous, love it all! Should we begin planning a 1st Anniversary party? ;)
Oh my gosh, how amazing would that party be?!?
I am crying over here!! I’m going to show your wedding video to my fiance to hopefully drive in the point that we *must* have a wedding videographer!
Precious! Worth every penny. I wish I’d had a videographer.
What a great film! I whole-heartedly agree that a great videographer is a must and I tell that to any bride-to-be who asks my opinion. You will treasure it forever!
What a beautiful testament to your love story! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Wow! What a sweet video – something to cherish forever! I got married in October and also had an amazing videographer. Now that we have our video, I can’t imagine NOT having it! Blessings to you both!
Wow! What an awesome video. I felt like I was a guest at your wedding. After reading all of your Wedding Wednesday posts, this video showed how the whole day came together. Thanks for sharing.
What a wonderful video. I would be interested in a post of how you did the guest list, especially the students and parents of your class. How did you set it up and invite them to the wedding?
