Can you believe our wedding is only 5 days away? We can’t believe it either! For the past 2 months, Rob and I have been running around like a couple of crazy people trying to get every detail in order for the wedding and our home. Between the house sale, Rob’s move and the end of the school year, we have had a lot on our plates. When you add in all of the details for a wedding with a tented outdoor reception at a private residence, it makes for a lot of long days and restless nights. But it will certainly be worth it!
Rob and I have been working for months to make the wedding as special as possible, not just for the two of us, but also for our guests. We want it to be a day that they will treasure and enjoy too. Right from the start, it was important to me that our wedding be a blend of traditional and unique. Weddings are expensive and I couldn’t stomach the idea of spending so much money on an event that looks and feels the same as everyone else’s. If Rob and I were going to throw a wedding, it would be with our own unique and timeless flair, right down to the smallest of details. Our guest’s first glimpse into the wedding begins with the wedding stationery and the moment I stumbled upon the online shop at Minted, I knew it was the perfect fit for our wedding. Their designs are all created by independent artists and have a unique and handcrafted feel to them. Our Save the Date cards came from Minted and today I am delighted to share the design for our wedding invitations with all of you!
Rob and I selected the Botanical Blooms design for our wedding invitations because it corresponded so well to the elegant and relaxed feel we are hoping to create during our reception. There were three default color options available and we selected this design as the basis for our own invitations.
I adored the homespun simplicity of the design, but the plum and olive shades did not correspond with our wedding’s color scheme. Fortunately, this wasn’t a problem at all! For a limited time, Minted has been offering FREE color customization. I was able to select the perfect color combination to fit the look and feel of our wedding. The new look was still gorgeously casual with softer tones of summer.
Each coordinating piece of stationery in the set was equally beautiful.
Minted even offers FREE matching envelope designs and guest addressing. The colors were not customizable, but the pink looked lovely and matched the postage stamps we had already selected.
Once our order arrived, it sat safely tucked away in a closet until we were ready to send the items to our guests. I was so excited when it was finally time to pull out all of the beautiful pieces and assemble our wedding invitations.
You are probably wondering if Rob helped with this process as well. Of course he did! I know that the bride typically takes control of all wedding details (and Rob would probably agree that I do oversee all of the details) but oh my word, you would be amazed at the amount of time and work that he has invested in making our day special.
A few short weeks after assembling the invitations, it was time to seal the envelopes and drop them in the mail!
Several weeks have passed and our guest list is now complete. We look forward to celebrating the wedding with 138 of our closest friends and family members. We can’t wait to share the moments of the day with you as well. For lots of peeks behind-the-scenes and first glimpses into our big day, make sure you are following Crazy Together on Instagram.
