Stitch Fix is the original personal styling service and they set the bar high for all of the competition. I’ve been writing Stitch Fix reviews on Crazy Together for over 7 years and have found that Stitch Fix offers the absolute best customer experience of all the online styling services that I have tried. Through the years, I’ve gotten more than 80 Fixes and many of my all-time favorite clothing pieces have come from Stitch Fix. They offer personal styling for women, men, and kids and even specializes in plus-size, maternity, and petite sizing. Keep scrolling for quick links to our most recent Stitch Fix reviews.
I have included my Stitch Fix referral link throughout this page. If you sign up for Stitch Fix using my link, we both earn $25 in Stitch Fix credit (which means you can try Stitch Fix risk-free!)
How Stitch Fix Works
If you’re brand new to the blog or you’ve been admiring my Stitch Fix reviews for a while, but aren’t quite sure how Stitch Fix works, here’s everything you need to know at a glance:
What is Stitch Fix? Stitch Fix is an online styling service that pairs customers with a personal stylist. Getting started is fast, easy, and FREE. All you need to do is visit StitchFix.com and build your style profile. The online questionnaire takes about 10 minutes to complete and gives you a chance to share everything your stylist might need to know about your budget, size information, style preferences, even your favorite colors to wear. It’s totally free to create a style profile and you are not obligated to purchase anything by filling it out.
How does Stitch Fix work? Whenever you are ready, you can schedule your first Stitch Fix delivery. At that point, you will be matched with a personal stylist who will review your style profile and hand-pick five items just for you based on the information you provided in your style profile. The clothes will be shipped right to your door and you have three days to try the items on in the convenience of your home. Keep the items you love, check out online, and return any unwanted clothes in the shipping envelope included in your fix.
Who is Stitch Fix for? Stitch Fix offers styling services for men, women, and kids; including petite, plus, and maternity sizes for women. My husband, Rob, receives a fix from Stitch Fix Men every three months and I loved getting maternity fixes while I was pregnant with my children. We even tried Stitch Fix kids for our daughter when she was a toddler. The service is perfect for everyone.
How much does Stitch Fix cost? The service costs $20, but shipping and returns are free and your $20 styling fee is automatically deducted from the price of any clothes you choosi to keep. Stitch Fix offers a 25% buy-all discount for customers who choose to purchase all five items in their fix.
Does Stitch Fix offer a price match? The customer service offered at Stitch Fix is truly top-notch and they go above and beyond to help ensure that every customer has a positive experience. If you find the same item in your Fix sold online at a lower price, Stitch Fix will match the online price if it meets their price matching criteria.
Does Stitch Fix offer exchanges? Stitch Fix offers size exchanges on all items received in a Fix or purchased under the “Shop” tab in user accounts as long as the desired size is in stock. Items from a Fix should be exchanged during the 3-day return window. If you’ve already checked out and later decide that you would like to exchange an item, you can contact customer service. If the item is available, Stitch Fix will provide you with a prepaid printable return label. Stitch Fix returns and exchanges are always free.
How do I get Stitch Fix credit? If you sign up for Stitch Fix using a referral link, you and the person who referred you both automatically receive $25 in Stitch Fix credit. (Click here to sign up for Stitch Fix and we will both get credit!) Once you are a Stitch Fix customer, you will find a referral link in your account that you can share with friends to earn additional credits.
What is a Stitch Fix Style Pass? Is it worth the expense? The Stitch Fix Style Pass is an invite-only program extended to select customers; offering them to waive their styling fees for an entire year. Style Pass membership costs $49, but the fee is automatically deducted from future purchases. All of this means that Style Pass membership invites customers to purchase $49 in Stitch Fix credit in exchange for 12 months of unlimited Fixes with all styling fees waived. I honestly think the Stitch Fix Style Pass is worth the $49 upfront investment because you have 12 months of unlimited Fixes to find at least one item that you absolutely love for a $49 discount.
How do I get a Stitch Fix Style Pass? The only way to get a Style Pass is to wait patiently for one to arrive in your email inbox. There is no magic formula or hack to get an invite. I’ve heard from lots of women about their Style Passes. Some are new to Stitch Fix. Some are long-time customers. Some women frequently purchase every item in their Fix. Others only buy one or two items. The only thing that they all have in common is that they are Stitch Fix customers. So if you aren’t a customer yet, be sure to sign up for Stitch Fix. After that, cross your fingers and hope that an email invite comes your way!
Does Stitch Fix use actual stylists? Yes, every Fix is personally styled by an actual human stylist. In fact, there are thousands of stylists working for Stitch Fix. A few years back I visited Stitch Fix headquarters and learned that all of the executives personally style boxes from time to time – I also had the opportunity to meet my own stylist. It’s true that Stitch Fixes uses a powerful algorithm to help stylists discover items that will be a perfect match to your size and taste preferences, but all items in a Fix are ultimately hand-selected by a personal stylist.
How often can I receive a fix? Do I have to subscribe? Many customers choose to set up monthly Stitch Fix shipments, but it does not have to be a subscription service. Customers can choose to automate their fixes to arrive every two-three weeks, every month, every other month, or every three months. If you don’t want to be locked into a specific interval of time, that’s perfectly fine as well. Stitch Fix also allows customers to log in and arrange just one fix at a time whenever it is convenient for them.
What brands will I find in my Stitch Fix box? Stitch Fix sources their clothing and accessories from more than 1,000 different brands, many of which you might already know and love like Kut From The Kloth, Kensie, Toms, Liverpool Jeans, Maggy London, Mavi, The North Face, Bobeau, and more. Stitch Fix also offers luxe shipments featuring designer shoes, clothes, handbags, and accessories from top names like Kate Spade, Rails, Splendid, Paige, Rebecca Minkoff … the list goes on and on. (I treated myself once to a Stitch Fix Luxe shipment and had so much fun trying everything on.)
Stitch Fix also more than a dozen in-house brands, each with its own unique personality to suit the style of every customer. In-house Stitch Fix brands for women that I love are 41Hawthorn, Pixley, Market & Spruce, and Brixon Ivy. My husband, Rob, has kept several items from their menswear brands; including Hawker Rye, Bixby Nomad, Even Tide and A-Frame.
Stitch Fix Kids offers many popular brands as well; such as Tailor Vintage, Nike, BCBG Girls, Threads for Thought, Hurley, Kate Spade, and Hanna Andersson.
Other Services Like Stitch Fix
Love Stitch Fix and looking to try a similar service? You might want to try Trunk Club, Wantable, Trendsend, or Fashom. I’ve personally used each of these services over the years. Each one offers a unique spin on receiving a hand-picked style box.
Visiting Stitch Fix Headquarters
A few years ago, I was invited on a two-day visit to Stitch Fix headquarters called the Tastemakers Event. During that time, I had the opportunity to visit the corporate offices, meet people working at all levels of the company and get a behind-the-scenes peek at the inner workings of Stitch Fix works. I also toured the photo studio, met several Stitch Fix stylists – including my own stylist, and was treated to a professional photoshoot (complete with hair and makeup!) In short, it was my dream trip! You can read more about my visit to Stitch Fix HQ here and here.
