Over the past few weeks, friends and family members have been asking us for updates on all of our adventures. What’s up with wedding planning, Rob’s debt, the house for sale, if we have found somewhere to live yet … the list goes on and on. The truth is we have never been this busy or faced so much excitement in such a short amount of time. Things are GOOD and we thought you might be wondering what’s going on with us behind the scenes at Crazy Together as well. We have lots of news!
We are so thrilled to announce that Rob sold his house! After only 5 days on the market, we were fortunate enough to receive two offers on the house. We struck a deal with one buyer, which was proceeded by an inspection and an appraisal. Now we are just waiting for our closing date. The purchase agreement stipulated that we would close on or before April 30, so it’s only a matter of a few weeks.
Which brings us to the next question everyone wants to know …
YES! We found our first home. After touring several condos in the area (all of which were lovely and would have been wonderful places to live) Rob and I decided on one condo that was just perfect for us. It’s very modest and needs a fresh coat of white paint, but the condo is spacious and meets my number one criteria: it has beautiful lighting from south-facing windows.
Rob is planning to move in a few weeks so he has begun the slow task of packing up his house. I don’t plan to move in until after the wedding, but some of my things (like my winter wardrobe) will be relocated to the new house right away. Right now I am fantasizing about the vast extra bedroom that will be our shared office. Wedding supplies continue to take over my own bedroom right now and I cannot wait to move those items, store them in the office, and have a space to plan for the wedding without losing sleep or my sanity.
Speaking of the wedding, the big day is only 64 days away! Oh my word, where is the time going? I have been on spring break this week and my only objective was to tackle as many wedding projects as I possibly could. The past seven days have been a complete whirlwind of wedding favors, suit selections, table settings, bridal garments, bridesmaid dresses, DIY projects, detail items, invitations and so much more.
Rob and I are (of course) looking forward to the wedding, but if I could just hit pause and live forever in anticipation, I would be content. This is such a joyful time for the two of us and we are loving every single moment.
We also have a small wedding announcement to share with you! A few weeks ago, we asked our fans to help us decide on a wedding hashtag. Thanks to your help and suggestions, we narrowed it down to our favorite: #GavinsinLove
Rob and I debated endlessly about which hashtag best fit for the two of us and the general theme of our wedding. #GavinsinLove ultimately won our hearts because it is a hashtag that we can continue to use beyond the wedding as we celebrate the special moments in our marriage.
Finally, I have one last bit of information to share with you! I may not be packing boxes in my apartment quite yet, but I am very mindful of the fact that I will be moving in the next 9 weeks. I need to pare down my closet and say goodbye to some clothes. I have already set dozens old t-shirts and inexpensive clothes aside to donate to the Salvation Army. But some items are just too special to me and I know that many readers would love to hang a few of those items in their own closets. I have decided to sell the nicer garments on Instagram. I have even set aside several items from Stitch Fix that have become too big for me since I did the Whole30 in January. The clothes are still beautiful and hardly worn at all – they just no longer fit me properly.
You do not want to miss out on the fun or the fashions! Be sure to follow @MariaSellsThings on Instagram and get ready to shop my closet!
That’s all for now! We promise to check in again with more news in the next few weeks as we prepare to close on the house and move Rob into the condo. We will definitely do a debt update post soon, too!
