Our Favorite Super Bowl Commercials

It’s Super Bowl time, which means everyone was talking today about the commercials! As Maria and I sat on our couch, eating Chipotle and watching the game, we too found ourselves commenting on many of the commercials during the game. As you might expect, I geeked out about  the X-Men, Deadpool, and Captain America trailers. Those commercials didn’t hold a huge appeal for Maria, but there were a few that we both really enjoyed. We rounded up our favorite commercials from Super Bowl Sunday. Forget the water-cooler. Let’s gather round the wine bottle, pour ourselves a glass and talk about those favorites!

Doritos Baby Commercial

Doritos normally has some pretty weird commercials (although Mountain Dew really took that prize home this year with puppy-monkey-baby thing they had), this one was really pretty funny.

Bud Light Party

Everyone loves Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen and this commercial put them to good use. We were just chuckling through this whole commercial, and I especially loved the Independence Day speech that Seth Rogen gave when he really got in the groove. With election campaigning in full swing, it was refreshing to lighten to mood with a campaign parody ad.

Steve Harvey T-Mobile

How could you not laugh at this one? After Steve Harvey’s major screw-up at the Miss Universe pageant, T-Mobile quickly turned around this self-deprecating bit of advertising. It’s just great.

Death Wish Coffee & Intuit Quickbooks

We liked this one for several reasons. First, we had no idea what it was about, but it was still interesting in a non-weird way. Second, the name of the coffee is so bold, it caught us off guard and for a second we wondered if it really was a coffee commercial. The reason we really loved it, though, was because Death Wish Coffee is a small business and, as fellow small business owners, we can’t help but cheer for the little guy that is lucky enough to land a commercial during the Super Bowl.  It’s really sort of amazing when you think about it.
