You’ve Got to See My Fall Stitch Fix Review #42

November 1, 2016 By Maria Gavin - 33 Comments

It’s that time again! Time to peek into my latest Stitch Fix arrival. After receiving an awesome fix last month of legging-friendly tops and sweaters, I requested a variety of fall attire this time around and my stylist Layla delivered. I’m so excited to share a fun fall Stitch Fix review on the blog today.

Mabel Button Detail Striped Pullover

The first item I tried on from my fall Stitch Fix box was a black and white striped Mabel Button Detail Striped Pullover from Loveapella ($68). The sweater fit like a glove, but was a bit more form-fitting than I usually like my sweaters to be. I decided to embrace the fit and channel my inner Audrey Hepburn! I paired the sweater with a slim fit pair of black pants and my matte black Tieks.

I must admit that even though the fit of this sweater was a little out of my comfort zone, I really loved how chic it was! I accessorized it simply with my silver Kate Spade watch and my silver and white Kendra Scott Elisa necklace.

Aside from the fact that the bottom of my sweater was folded up in these photos (oops!), this look was an instant classic. I was so tempted to keep the Mabel Button Detail Striped Pullover, but I ultimately decided to send it back. It was such a fabulous sweater and I love the outfit that I centered around it, but I know myself too well. And I will always choose a sweater that doesn’t hug my curves over a form-fitting one. So I decided to spare myself the guilt of having a really gorgeous sweater living in my closet that I never actually wear.

But if this look fits your style, you should pin one of these photos to your style board on Pinterest ASAP. You won’t regret it.

People ask all the time about my Tieks. The biggest question is do I really love them and the answer is a resounding yes! You can read my answers to just about every question imaginable about Tieks in this blog post. I didn’t hold anything back.

Genifer Tie-Back Knit Top

The next item I tried was the Genifer Tie-Back Knit Top from Loveapella ($58). Oh my word, this classic, simple sweater was just my style. Effortlessly classic and comfortable, it was the perfect sweater to wear with a pair of lightly distressed skinny jeans. And my Ballerina Pink Tieks completed the look.

This sweater from Stitch Fix was a perfect fit and wasn’t too clingy. It was a great, modest piece to add to my wardrobe.  I accessorized the outfit with my new Kendra Scott Benning necklace (which I adore and is no longer available. Get the similar Aiden necklace while you can!), a simple blue and gold stretch bracelet from Charming Charlie and my rose gold and white ceramic watch (similar here).

I wear a white tank top under almost all of my tops and sweaters, but sometimes I like to change things up and wear a top extender from Grace and Lace. This time around, I wore my scalloped lace extender in ivory. I adore the feminine touch that the pop of lace added to the look!

I think you probably already figured out that I kept the Genifer Tie-Back Knit Top. There really wasn’t any debate at all. It was an automatic keeper.

Asa Knit Blazer

The third item for my November Stitch Fix review was a green Asa Knit Blazer from Skies are Blue ($68). I don’t wear blazers very often because they feel a little too dressy for life in a kindergarten classroom, but I’m always happy for an excuse to dress up in traditional work wear. I grabbed my black slim fit dress pants (similar here), some fun black heels (similar), and the lace top from Hinge that I received in my July Trunk Club box.

I also added the same Benning necklace (similar), white ceramic and rose gold watch (similar) and a gold Kendra Scott bracelet (similar here). It was such a great look! I was disappointed to see that the lace top I wore is no longer in stock, but Old Navy currently has several tops in stock with lace trim that are very budget friendly!

I kinda loved the blazer, but I knew that I had to find a way to dress it down a little if I was going to keep it. I traded the dress pants for a pair of flare leg jeans (I bought these at Old Navy several years ago – way before I ever met Rob and I’m so happy they are finally back in style! Similar flare jeans here.)

Of course a blazer does require you to make a bit of an effort while wearing it, so I added some nude heels (similar here) and a fun fall-print scarf (similar here).

I loved this look so much, I couldn’t resist. I kept the blazer. Now let’s hope I actually wear it because it is way too great of an item to hide in my closet!
