After trying on three beautiful items from my June Stitch Fix box, I hadn’t decided to keep anything yet. The first three pieces were lovey but they were either a little too fitted or just outside of my personal style. I still had a maxi dress and a pair of shoes to try on and I’m so excited to show you the remaining items that my Stitch Fix stylist hand-picked for me.

Kaleia Maxi Dress
When I first tried on the Kaleia Maxi Dress from Renee C ($78) that was included in my June Stitch Fix box, I was underwhelmed. The print was a little bohemian for my taste, but I liked the idea of a maxi dress. Despite being a size small, there was far too much fabric on top. I pinned the sides of it for these photos so I can take some photos without flashing too much skin.
If the Queenie Lace Overlay Blouse made me feel slender when I tried it on, the Kaleia Maxi Dress had the opposite effect. The dress didn’t really do my shape any favors. It also had a knee-high slit on each side. I’m not really a slit-in-my-dress kind of a girl. It’s a modesty thing. I prefer maxi dresses with extra fabric so that a slit isn’t necessary.
The colors of the dress were interesting too. Stitch Fix called the color “dark pink” and I will admit, that the pink shades stand out much more in photos than they did to me when I saw myself in the mirror. The colors struck me as more of a reddish-maroon in person. I stepped out of the office for a quick minute to snap an up-close view of the dress. I think you’ll agree that it’s a unique print.
Since I’m always cold when my arms are bare, I pulled out my trusty Old Navy denim jacket to add as a warmer layer.
And that’s when I fell in love with the Kaleia Maxi Dress.
Something about the jacket just transformed the dress and pulled the entire look together. I’ve owned this Kendra Scott rose quartz Rayne necklace for a few months and haven’t found the perfect outfit to style it with… until now.
If I didn’t know any better, I would think that big rose quartz stone and the gold chain was made for this dress and denim jacket combination.
My new Rampage sandals were also the perfect footwear for this dress and the metallic gold color was a great neutral tone.
Speaking of footwear, I also received a pair of shoes in this fix!
Roger Double Ankle Strap Sandal
The Roger Double Ankle Strap Sandal from BCBGeneration ($98) was the fifth item included in my June Stitch Fix box. I purchased a pair of heels from this BCBGeneration several years ago and they were unbelievably comfortable. I knew that these were going to be great shoes before I even tried them on.
I was right! The Roger Double Ankle Strap Sandal was completely comfortable. The leather was soft around my ankles, I barely felt anything across the top of my feet and the soles were a breeze to walk on. With a price of $98, I know these sandals seem expensive, but it’s money well-spent for comfortable shoes you can wear all day.
Multi-ankle strap sandals are on-trend right now and this pair looked great with the maxi dress.
I ultimately decided not to keep the Roger Double Ankle Strap Sandal. They were truly great shoes, but I rarely wear stacked heels of any sort and I wear flat sandals with everything in the summer months. These shoes went back in the mail to Stitch Fix, but I am certain they will make another customer very happy.

How to Get the Best Clothes from Stitch Fix
People ask all the time how I manage to get such beautiful clothes from Stitch Fix that consistently fit my personal style. A lot of people assume that it’s because I have a great stylist. Yes, I do have a fantastic stylist (Layla), but I’ve actually “gone rogue” for the past two fixes and specifically request that someone new style me and Leslie, my guest stylist, has done a beautiful job even though we don’t have the past relationship established. If you’re on the hunt for a great stylist, you can try requesting Leslie. I can vouch that she does a great job. But the real secret to receiving an amazing fix has more to do with how you communicate and less to do with who is styling you. I shared all of my best tips for getting a really great fix in this blog post. Read the post, follow my advice and get ready for an amazing fix!

I feel we have similar styles. I am pretty conservative with how I dress but started using Stitch Fix to help me branch out and a little “pep” to my wardrobe. I prefer loose (but not baggy or too flowy) tops. It’s tough because I don’t want things to be too tight but I also don’t want things to look sloppy. I found that tops were big initially as well with Stitch Fix, so I changed my fit from “loose” to “straight”. I was nervous, but it worked well for me.

That is really good advice! I will update my profile. Thanks!

I’m so glad you kept the maxi! I love it and it looks great with the denim jacket!
I think the bright blue looks great on you, and you should venture into brighter colors more.

The shoes are on sale at Nordstrom right now! 40% off!

I think the Loveappella top is really cute! But I totally understand that how something looks in the picture isn’t necessarily how it feels on. Love that you found a way to make the maxi work! And great tip on those Rampage sandals!
Leslie says
I love the color of the blue lace top. It looked great on you. You’re right though about getting things caught in lace, I seem to snag all of my tops with lace. Denim jackets certainly do have a way of pulling outfits together. Yours looks great with that maxi dress and I love the necklace you accessorized it with.

I love the maxi dress and the stacked heel sandals!! I think I need between an X-small and Small in some Stitch Fix sizes as well! Thanks for the giveaway! You and your husband have inspired me to look into Dave Ramsey – I hope I win the giveaway so I don’t have to give up new clothes ;)!

Gorgeous dress! I agree that the jean jacket transforms and makes the oufit, great styling.
Melissa C. says
The blue lace is absolutely stunning on you! Obviously you have to be comfortable in what you wear but WOW :-D I agree with the previous commentor, you should consider branching out into brighter colors! I love Stitch Fix for pushing me out of my comfort zone.
Renee says
I love those shoes, I may have to find them for myself! I think you made the right choice on the dress, especially for the summer.
Connie says
I am happy to see that you kept the dress. It looked great on you … especially paired with the jacket. And, your reviews help me understand that it is “okay” to be picky and only keep one thing!
Maria Gavin says
It is ABSOLUTELY ok to be picky! And it’s better for your budget :)
Lisamarie says
I don’t get the keeping one thing I would want to keep everything that’s why I do golden tote and mixandmatchbox.com you buy the box for practically what it costs for a pair of jeans at stitch fix and if everything fits u get a far better deal
Christine Blair says
I really like that lace top on you but it is a bit pricey. You always look good in all your items, lucky girl
