With our second baby on the way, I honestly don’t know what I was more excited about: finally sharing the news of Baby Gavin with all of you, or writing a new Maternity Stitch Fix review for the blog! I received monthly maternity shipments from Stitch Fix while I was pregnant with Dessa and they were always such a treat to try on. A Little About Stitch Fix
If you read the blog often, you already know a lot about Stitch Fix. But just in case you’re new here, I’ll give you a really quick run-down of what Stitch Fix is and how it works.
Stitch Fix is an online styling service that matches you with your own personal stylist. It’s free to get started and complete your style profile by answering some basic questions about your style preferences, sizes, and budget. Then, when you are ready, you can schedule your first fix. You’ll be charged a $20 styling fee and your personal stylist will hand-pick 5 items just for you. The clothes are shipped right to your door so you can try them on in the comfort of your home. Shipping and returns are free! Keep what you love, and send back what you don’t in the pre-paid mailing envelope that comes in your fix. It’s easy to check out online and provide feedback about each item so that your next fix will be even better. The styling fee is deducted from the price of anything you decide to keep, and if you keep all five items from your fix, you automatically save 25% on your entire purchase at checkout.
Best of all, Stitch Fix offers styling in all regular women’s sizes, along with petite, maternity and plus sizes. They even style for Men and Kids. For a limited time, you can sign up using my referral link and receive $25 off your first Fix! But hurry, the offer expires on May 18 so sign up soon! Click here to get started.
Cora Maternity Blouse
The first item I tried on from my maternity Stitch Fix box was the Cora Maternity Blouse from Skies are Blue Maternity ($54). The thing that struck me about the yellow floral print was how versatile it would be for spring, summer and fall. And since Baby Gavin isn’t due until early October, this was a definite plus.
Since I am so excited for spring, I started by styling the top for the current season. I paired the blouse with my favorite maternity skinny jeans (similar here), a cropped white denim jacket (similar here) and white strappy sandals. I love how the pop of white instantly brightened the look and made it perfect for spring.

Since I knew the Cora Maternity Blouse would also transition perfectly into autumn, I also wanted to style the blouse for the fall. I traded the white denim jacket for a deep purple trench-style jacket (mine is from Stitch Fix – read more about it here) and slipped on my Eggplant Metallic Rothy’s. The entire outfit was transformed by those two simple trades.
I can always appreciate an item of clothing that works for multiple seasons (especially if it’s a maternity piece).
RECREATE THE LOOK
I was seriously tempted to keep the Cora Maternity Blouse, but still had four more items to try on from this month’s Stitch Fix box.
Lerra Smocking Detail Mixed Material Top
When the first item I tried on from my maternity Stitch Fix box was so great, I was eager to keep trying things on and see what else Jenn sent my way. The next thing I tried on was actually a non-maternity piece. The Lerra Smocking Detail Mixed Material Top from Sweet Grey ($54) was an ivory, loose-fitting, sleeveless top.
The Lerra top was a little sheer so I layered my favorite white Old Navy tank underneath and topped it off with a pale peach cardigan with lace detail (also from Stitch Fix … it’s crazy how many of my favorite clothing items have come from this amazing styling service over the years).
I added my silver Kate Spade watch and a blue/gray tassel necklace (similar here) and I love how it coordinated with the light blue tone of my jeans. I also added my Romantic Blush Tieks to add a touch of sparkle. I know I’ve been raving a lot about Rothy’s lately, but I do still love my Tieks (find out why in this blog post) – especially the Romantic Blush. They’re the perfect springtime flat and instantly elevate any casual outfit.
I absolutely loved this entire outfit. It was soft, feminine. light, breezy and oh-so-comfortably chic. I was seriously tempted to keep the Lerra Smocking Detail Mixed Material Top, but when I looked at the clothes in my closet, this was the only outfit I could envision myself wearing with the top. The off-white color didn’t pair well with many of my cardigans so keeping the top just didn’t make very much sense. I decided to send the Lerra Smocking Detail Mixed Material Top back to Stitch Fix, but I loved every moment of trying it on!

Sparrow Striped Two Pocket Cardigan
The off-white top wasn’t the only non-maternity item that came in my Fix this month. Jenn also sent along the Sparrow Striped Two Pocket Cardigan from Pinque ($44). I loved the soft blue and white color combo and also the fact that it was a chunkier knit cardigan than anything I currently own. Most of my spring tops are short sleeve and I love the thought of pairing them with a heavier spring cardigan on chilly days. I layered the cardigan over a white maternity t-shirt, kept on the Kate Spade watch and Kendra Scott necklace and threw on my white Converse Shoreline sneakers. This was the perfect casual spring outfit and I instantly fell in love with the coziness of the sweater. Best of all, I could continue wearing it long after Baby Gavin arrives in the fall. So far, this was my favorite piece from my Stitch Fix maternity shipment this month and it quickly rose to the top of the list of items I would probably keep.

Peppy Knit Maternity Top
Next up was a Peppy Knit Maternity Top from Full Moon ($44). I always love a good floral and I was happy to see that Jenn remembered how much I like light-colored florals when she included this top in my fix. The light pink color was right up my alley and I loved the cut of the top. It also didn’t hurt that the fabric was soft, stretchy and incredibly comfortable.
There wasn’t any need to change my jeans, watch, or necklace. I just tried on the shirt and finished the look with a strappy pair of white sandals. The top was a perfect fit and looked so cute. I really liked the Peppy Knit Maternity Top, but I loved the cardigan more. And since I’ve been trying very hard to keep our budget in mind and only purchase one item from my Stitch Fix box each month, I ultimately decided to return the pink floral top.

Belinda Maternity Skinny Crop Jean
This month’s fix wasn’t all tops and cardigans, my stylist Jenn also sent a dark wash pair of Belinda Maternity Skinny Crop Jean from Liverpool ($88). I discovered Liverpool jeans through Stitch Fix and they are my favorite brand of denim to wear, so I was excited to see a new pair arrive in my fix this month. I tried on the pants with my white maternity t-shirt, the same watch, and necklace I had been wearing, and my Converse shoreline sneakers. It was such a cute and preppy look!
I thought long and hard about keeping the cropped jeans instead of the cardigan, but the cardigan won out in the end. I’m not completely opposed to an $88 price tag on a pair of jeans that I will only wear for six months, but if I’m paying that much money, I need to be wearing those jeans all the time. The jeans were cute, but I’d like to have a pair of cropped jeans in a lighter wash so they look a little more casual and airy. This pair was going back to Stitch Fix, along with feedback for my stylist that I’d love to see a lighter wash pair of denim in a future maternity fix.
