My little peanut, Dessa Marie, has finally arrived and I’m enjoying a few quiet weeks of baby snuggles as I ease my way back into the swing of blogging. We may be enjoying a slower pace of life in the Gavin household this month, but I couldn’t let the first of the month pass by without talking about Stitch Fix. As I begin to clean out my closet and set some of my maternity clothes aside, I can’t help but reflect on how many fashionable maternity staples I received from Stitch Fix over the course of my pregnancy. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to round up my 13 favorite Stitch Fix maternity styles on the blog today while I sit back and absorb snuggles from my baby girl. It’s also fun to look back and watch my bump grow over the course of my pregnancy.
If you are expecting your own little bundle of joy, be sure to pin your favorite items and request them from your Stitch Fix stylist. I personally loved each of the items featured in today’s blog post. Even if you’re not expecting, you just might discover a few non-maternity items that became instant staples for me! Pregnant or not, there’s a $150 Stitch Fix gift card giveaway at the end of this post that is just the right size and style for anyone. Shall we dive in?
1. Elizabeth Super Skinny Jean
My stylist sent this pair of Elizabeth Super Skinny Jean from Liverpool ($78) in my very first maternity fix and they were perfect for my needs at the time. These jeans aren’t actually maternity pants at all – just a really great fitting pair of jeans with a stretchy, tailored waistband. They were a saving grace during my first trimester when my regular jeans were getting a little too tight to be comfortable but I wasn’t ready to transition into full-on maternity pants. I highly recommend these pants to anyone during their first trimester (or women who aren’t pregnant that are just looking for a fitted, stretchy option!)

2. Kamile Knit Maternity Dress
Way back during that first Stitch Fix Maternity shipment, I also received a purple Kamile Knit Maternity Dress from Gilli ($54). When it first arrived, I will admit that I had mixed feelings about this dress. I typically hate jersey dresses because of how clingy they are on top and this was sort of a classic jersey dress. I decided to keep the dress because I knew I would need nicer options as my pregnancy progressed.
Someone commented on the original blog post that I would be happy to have a jersey dress in my closet during the hot summer months. She was so right! Not so much because I was always hot, but because my right leg and ankle swelled up so much during the last six weeks of my pregnancy that I could barely cram them into pants. Dresses became my summer pregnancy uniform and the Kamile Knit Maternity Dress served me well with a pair of casual flip flops and a cropped denim jacket. It also spurred a ton of compliments when I was out in public because I always looked dressed up even though I was dressing for comfort!
Of course, it’s also a great piece to dress up with a printed scarf and pair of heels (if your feet aren’t too swollen) for a wedding or other special event.

And if you’re expecting a winter baby, the Kamile Knit Maternity Dress is easy to repurpose for cooler temperatures. All you need is a pair of black riding boots, black tights, and a denim jacket.

3. Moran Maternity Mixed Material Knit Top
I have purchased a lot of great maternity items (from Stitch Fix and elsewhere) but the Moran Maternity Mixed Material Knit Top from Full Moon ($54) was hands-down one of my very favorites! This super-soft, lightweight top arrived in my second maternity fix and was so feminine and perfect for me to wear to school or just dress up my weekend style a bit. I loved the light heather gray color, the soft peach trim and the floral panel along the bottom of the top.
This top was easy to style and fun to dress up. I pulled on the Liverpool stretch jeans that came in my first maternity fix (they had enough stretch to still fit at 20 weeks even though they aren’t maternity jeans), my silver Kate Spade watch, an inexpensive tassel necklace and some black Ghillie flats. The finished result was comfortably stylish and chic.
The Moran Maternity Mixed Material Knit Top top was super stretchy and grew with me as my bump expanded, but it was such a great fit even with my teeny tiny bump. I may try and work it into my post-baby wardrobe this fall and who can blame me for trying?

4. Adorra Maternity Skinny Jean (Keep)
The Adorra Maternity Skinny Jean from Just Black ($88) also arrived in my second maternity fix and I got a lot of wear out of it this winter. I love olive green (which is a neutral in my book) and these pants looked great with my vast collection of white, gray, and tan tops and cardigans. They also paired perfectly with a pair of heeled suede booties and added one of my favorite maternity tops from Pink Blush.
I positively loved these pants, but it is worth noting that the waistband was a little roomy for my belly for the first few months and they sagged more than most of my maternity pants. Once my bump was big enough to add some extra tension to the waistband, they stayed up much better.

5. Mirabella Maternity Capri Skinny Jean
One of my biggest Stitch Fix maternity regrets was deciding to return this pair of Mirabella Maternity Capri Skinny Jean from Liverpool ($68) that arrived in my third Stitch Fix Maternity shipment. I love, love, LOVE all of the Liverpool pants that Stitch Fix has sent my way and these were a great fit.
This particular pair of capri pants just came at the wrong time. It was early spring and not yet warm enough for me to feel like I needed capri pants in my wardrobe. I also started limiting my Stitch Fix purchases during my pregnancy because Rob and I were tightening our budget in anticipation of Dessa’s arrival. I ultimately decided to keep a gorgeous peach Lauderdale Knit Cardigan from this fix instead. Which was great at the time and that non-maternity cardigan is one of my favorite staples for layering. I just wish I had anticipated how desperate I would be for cute tailored capri pants during May and June.
Styling the Mirabella Maternity Capri Skinny Jean was especially easy with my closet full of neutral clothes. I paired the capris with a gray striped maternity t-shirt, a bargain pair of gray tennis shoes, my silver Kate Spade watch and the Perry Street Olivia necklace that came in my Rocksbox. A white denim jacket added an extra layer for cooler days.
If you’re currently expecting, do yourself a favor and request these jean capris for your next fix!

6. Medford Maternity Knit Top
Speaking of poor timing for a really great maternity piece, let’s talk about the Medford Maternity Knit Top from Loveappella Maternity ($48)! This stylish black top also came in my third Stitch Fix Maternity shipment.
I love how the Medford Maternity Knit Top delivered such great style, but packed in so much comfort. It’s the perfect type of top for me to wear to work as a kindergarten teacher. It looked great with a pair of black maternity leggings. my Perry Street Olivia necklace from Rocksbox, my silver Kate Spade watch and my matte black Tieks.
Unfortunately, this very stylish top also just happened to arrive at the wrong time. Living in Michigan, I wasn’t quite ready to start wearing capris in April, but I was very ready to add lightness to my wardrobe. By the time this fix arrived, I had my fill of charcoal gray and black tops. I just couldn’t bring myself to purchase one more dark top, as cute as it was.

7. Lauderdale Knit Cardigan
Remember how I said I decided to return the Liverpool jean capris because I chose to keep a cardigan from my April fix instead? Lauderdale Knit Cardigan from Market & Spruce ($38) was my item to keep from my third Stitch Fix Maternity shipment. This adorable little number isn’t a maternity item at all, but it was a bump-friendly layer that I wore often during my pregnancy. I loved the color, the lightweight style, and the cut was a perfect, flattering fit for my shape.
The cardigan looked great with my non-maternity striped tank (a Nordstrom bargain!), some dark maternity jeans, and gray tennis shoes. I accessorized with my silver Kate Spade watch, my silver and gray Kendra Scott bracelet, and a blush pink statement necklace from Loft to add a little sparkle. This was such a great weekend look and I’m so excited to recreate it post-bump (since the jeans are the only maternity item in the entire ensemble).

8. Agnes Lace Sleeve Maternity Knit Top: Keep
The thing I love most about Stitch Fix is the uniqueness of the items that arrive in my fix. The Agnes Lace Sleeve Maternity Knit Top from Loveappella Maternity ($54) was no exception to this rule. This light heather gray ruched top with lace sleeves arrived in my fourth fix and was just my style. The top was a perfect blend of casual, comfortable, and stylish. It looked great paired with with my Super Skinny Maternity Jeans (don’t let the name fool you – these are so comfy and look a little more professional than distressed jeans). I also added a neutral tassel necklace from Loft (great price!), a slim taupe Fossil watch (similar here), and my Romantic Blush Tieks.
This will always be one of my favorite maternity items. I already wore it post-baby for our newborn photo session and I’m certain it will be worn again before it is finally packed away with the rest of my maternity wardrobe.

9. Lottie Pleated Maternity Blouse
All of my favorite blouses have come from Stitch Fix and this gorgeous floral print Lottie Pleated Maternity Blouse from Pale Sky ($64) that also arrived in my fourth Stitch Fix maternity shipment was just as perfect as all my non-maternity blouses. I loved the cut and soft floral print of this blouse, which served me well during my pregnancy. It was perfect to pair with black pants and heels for a special event (I wore that exact ensemble at a bridal shower and a rehearsal dinner during my pregnancy and received tons of compliments.)
The Lottie Pleated Maternity Blouse was also easy to dress down for daily wear with a pair of navy maternity pants. This is a hand-me-down pair and the debate continues about whether they are jeans or just navy pants. Either way, you can find similar non-jean navy maternity pants here, here, and here.
I was overjoyed to have kept the Lauderdale Knit Cardigan from my April fix because it looked stunning with the Lottie Pleated Maternity Blouse. To complete the look, I wore my silver Kate Spade watch and my white Kendra Scott Elisa necklace. I regularly wore this exact outfit to school and felt confident and comfortable every single time.
I also wore my only pair of navy flats with this outfit, which happened to be a pair of the Minnie style from Tory Burch. If you read the blog often, you know I’m a Tieks girl, but after hearing so many people debate whether Tory Burch or Tieks made a more comfortable flat, I decided to use some store credit to invest in a pair. I gotta say, the Tory Burch shoes are pretty, but the toe box puts to much pressure on my big toes and I’m in pain mid-way through my day every time I wear them. If you’re currently debating, you can check out my Tieks review and then do yourself a favor and invest in a California Navy pair of Tieks.

10. Meruna Maternity Mesh Detail Knit Top
I usually prefer to wear neutrals over jewel tones, but sometimes you just gotta break out of your comfort zone and embrace a different style. The Meruna Maternity Mesh Detail Knit Top from Skies are Blue Maternity ($54) that came in my fifth maternity fix encouraged me to do just that!
The top looked great styled with black slim fit dress pants from Thyme Maternity (a staple for me during the pregnancy!) To add a really polished look, I paired the Meruna Maternity Mesh Detail Knit Top black patent leather heels (similar), and the crystal cuff bracelet and necklace I wore for my wedding.
And how pretty is the mesh floral detail?
RECREATE THE LOOK
For a more professional look that was perfect for school, I traded the heels for my matte black Tieks, a Kendra Scott Elisa necklace and my silver Kate Spade watch.
For an easy, summery look, the Meruna Maternity Mesh Detail Knit Top also looked great with white pants or capris. I love a good versatile top that I can be sure to get a lot of use out of!

11. Kaila Matenity Nursing Panel Top
For my final maternity fix, my stylist was thinking ahead! She sent me the Kaila Maternity Nursing Panel Top from Loveappella Maternity ($48) and now that little Dessa has arrived, I am SO thankful to have a nursing-friendly top. I had been planning to breastfeed all along and when I looked at the clothes in my wardrobe, I became increasingly aware that I don’t own many tops that are convenient for nursing. I was over the moon to see that Kate included a casual top that doubles as a maternity and a nursing top.
A soft sleeveless top with light neutral colors was just my style. This top served me well while I was still pregnant and, now that I’m a mommy, I love the convenient and discrete side panels for breastfeeding Dessa. She and I are still getting into a groove in that department and it’s nice to not sweat the details of my wardrobe when I wear the Kaila Maternity Nursing Panel Top.
I may have been barefoot, but the rest of the look was easy to assemble. It featured my favorite maternity skinny jeans, my silver Kate Spade watch, and my white and silver Kendra Scott Elisa necklace. This casual, comfortable outfit has also been great for helping me look put together when Dessa and I receive visitors who are eager to finally meet her!

12. Tom Maternity Knit Maxi Dress
I know I have mentioned this before, but I pretty much lived in dresses during the last month of my pregnancy. As my poor right foot swelled, I especially loved maxi dresses because they were easy to put on, kept me cool and comfortable during the summer heat, and allowed me to hide my growing club foot.
I loved the Tom Maternity Knit Maxi Dress from Gilli ($78) that my stylist, Kate, also included in my final maternity fix. The dress was super-stylish and fit me perfectly.
I especially loved the top section of the Tom Maternity Knit Maxi Dress. The armholes were a refreshingly perfect fit (not too big like so many other sleeveless tops and dresses that I’ve tried on). But the best part was the unexpected cutout in the back. This fun detail was interesting, yet modest and still allowed me to wear a regular bra with the straps completely concealed.
The Aztec print wasn’t exactly my style and I had already made the decision to purchase the more sensible nursing-friendly top from this fix. But if my budget wasn’t an issue, I would have absolutely kept the Tom Maternity Knit Maxi Dress. It was such a stunning dress and would be great for a summer event.

13. Paden Maternity Scallop Hem Detail Blouse
There was one additional favorite item in my my last Stitch Fix maternity shipment that also wasn’t a keeper. This beautiful navy Paden Maternity Scallop Hem Detail Blouse from Daniel Rainn Maternity ($68) wasn’t sent back for a lack of love! Quite the opposite in fact. It was a gorgeous closet staple and the scallop hem was so sweetly feminine. Unfortunately, this blouse just happened to arrive at the wrong time for me. As a teacher on summer vacation, I knew that I wouldn’t have enough opportunities to get dressed up and adequately use the top to justify the expense – which is a shame because it truly was a lovely blouse!
I styled the blouse with a pair of white maternity capri pants (similar), my silver Kate Spade watch, and my silver and white Kendra Scot Elisa necklace. It was a great, weekend look for the summer with a fun nautical flair.

And there you have it! My 13 favorite Stitch Fix maternity picks. There were so many memorable items, I will honestly be kind of sad to pack most of them away as I set aside my maternity clothes and return to wearing my pre-baby clothing. Fortunately, there are a few non-maternity items, like that stunning Lauderdale Knit Cardigan to soften the blow!
