We are happy to share that our family of four is now complete! Harvey James entered the world on October 2nd at 6:22 pm and completely stole all of our hearts. We shared the announcement on social media last week and everyone seems to agree that Harvey bears a very strong resemblance to his big sister. So many of his qualities, mannerisms, and personality are just like Dessa when she was a baby. There’s no doubt that Harvey belongs in our family.
Speaking of Dessa, she has been the wonderful and loving big sister we always knew she would be. Dessa loves holding and snuggling with Harvey and especially loves serving as our helper for his diaper changes throughout the day.
When Dessa came to the hospital to meet Harvey, she opened a special gift from her baby brother: a new, realistic baby doll that she could take care of all by herself – whom she immediately named Harvey.
We thought we were busy, exhausted and overwhelmed when Dessa was born; but all of that new baby craziness pales in comparison to life with a two-year-old and a newborn.
The last few months of my pregnancy were especially difficult and Harvey’s birth story was far more of an adventure than I prepared for (and it’s a story that I hope to share with you soon), but every swollen, diabetic, painful moment was worth the effort in the end.
Thank you so much from the very bottom of my heart for everyone who reached out with words of support and encouragement for me and our family. All of the extra prayers are especially appreciated. I was scared and frustrated as the days and hours drew near for Harvey’s arrival and I am certain that all of the prayerful reinforcement helped provide the strength I needed for his delivery.
Rob and I can’t believe that this sweet baby has already been a part of our family for an entire week. The nights have been sleepless, but the time has absolutely flown by and we fall in love with sweet Harvey James a little more each day.
Things will continue to be quiet on the blog for the next several weeks as we continue to settle in and adjust to life as a family of four. We will still hop onto Instagram and Facebook Stories with little glimpses into our daily adventures and routines. Follow along to see what is happening in between blog posts.

Congratulations!!! Having two makes you a better parent because you can’t focus all of your attention on either one! You lear to just start letting some of that perfect parenting stuff go! Also, I thought you would like this post (link below)- talks a lot about the positives of Dave Ramsey, but expands on what to do post -Dave. Seems like you guys are there – specifically the part about contributing to retirement and use of credit cards for cash back or other rewards!
