I will be the first to admit that I cannot wait for spring to arrive and Michigan temperatures to finally rise. But the fact that there’s an ice cold chill in the air doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have at least a little bit of fun wrapping ourselves up in cozy layers. This winter chic look is easy to recreate and will keep you warm on a cold winter day.

Somehow, astoundingly, my 18 week baby bump wasn’t holding me back on a particularly beautiful winter day. I dressed from head to toe in non-maternity styles. It’s only a matter of time before the bump takes over, but it’s nice to get as much use out of my regular clothes as possible before they don’t fit anymore!
Let’s start by talking about the jacket. I bought it several years ago at TJMaxx and it was one of those amazing finds that I still pinch myself over. I wish I could find the exact same coat online and send you right over so you could add this stunner to your own closet. Luckily, I have found several black and white coats with a bold print that make a great statement piece. I especially love this black and white plaid coat and the look of this houndstooth bargain coat. Then of course, there’s the Kate Spade version that’s a total splurge.
Speaking of Kate Spade, how adorable are these black Kate Spade black bow gloves? Rob’s mom gave them to me as a Christmas gift and they are a total home run! The Kate Spade bag (similar here) was also a gift.
And then there are the shoes. I seriously debated whether or not to purchase these Nella Ghillie lace up flats from Halogen because they were a more modern twist on my usual style. I was also seriously concerned about how comfortable they could possibly be. As it turns out, the shoes haven’t hurt my feet at all. There’s not a lot of support, so I can’t imagine wearing them for an entire day, but they’re great for date night or grabbing a drink with my friends. In my case, that drink would probably be a virgin Bloody Mary.
The black sweater arrived in a recent Trunk Club box and it is just my style: soft, flowy, comfortable and warm. It’s not a maternity item, but the “Love” split back pullover sweater from Free People has enough natural drape to fabulously cover a growing baby bump.
And the jeans? You may remember them from my Stitch Fix box earlier this month. The Liverpool super skinny jeans have been such a godsend so far this pregnancy. Even though they aren’t maternity jeans, they have incredible stretch and have kept me (and the bump) stylishly comfortable every weekend.
I completed the look by pairing my Kendra Scott Elisa necklace with a layered stone tassel pendant necklace from the Loft (such a great bargain, btw.) The soft grays and blues of the necklace were the perfect accent for a crisp winter day.
A huge thank you goes out to Niki Marie Photography for taking such beautiful photos on a cold winter day!
