I’ve been a Stitch Fix customer for over three years, but I don’t think I fully appreciated the service until I became pregnant and realized how desperate I was for stylish maternity clothes (and how little energy I had for traditional shopping). I had already tried on three items from my June Stitch Fix maternity shipment, and two items remained. If you missed the first three items, just click the image below to catch up and read all about them. If you’ve been reading since the beginning of the post, let’s keep going, because I know you can’t wait to see more and have a chance to win a $300 Stitch Fix gift card.
Gallen Maternity Lattice Detail Blouse
Item number four from this month’s fix was the Gallen Maternity Lattice Detail Blouse from Eden Society ($58). I used my Stitch Fix iPhone app to preview my fix before it arrived and I was most excited about this blouse. I’m always a sucker for blouses, but give me a blouse with a floral print and I immediately fall in love. I especially loved the botanical feel of this particular floral print and couldn’t wait to try it on.
I styled the Gallen Maternity Lattice Detail Blouse with my favorite maternity jeans (I love the slim tailored look and semi-light wash of this pair), my silver Kate Spade watch, and Kendra Scott Elisa necklace. I also added my Romantic Blush Tieks to complement the natural colors of the blouse.
RECREATE THE LOOK
The print was completely lovely, but the fit of the blouse wasn’t quite perfect. It was a little boxy (many of the other maternity blouses I’ve tried on from Stitch Fix have had pleats to create a pretty flowy fit) and the arm holes were a little too big. It wasn’t terrible, but I would have taken the blouse to get altered had I decided to keep it. Now that the weeks of my pregnancy are down into the single digits, it just seemed like to much trouble to keep a blouse when I didn’t absolutely love the fit.
Nene 2fer Knit Midi Dress
The final item I tried on from my June Stitch Fix Maternity fix wasn’t a maternity item at all. Nene 2fer Knit Midi Dress from Le Lis ($74) is a non-maternity item that doubles nicely as a maternity dress.
I accessorized the dress with items that complemented the navy, pink and white color scheme of the dress. A white open-front cardigan from Old Navy, my Kendra Scott Rayne necklace with a Rose Quartz stone, a simple blue and gold elastic bracelet (similar), and my Tory Burch Minnie flats.
RECREATE THE LOOK
Occasionally people ask about my Tory Burch shoes. I purchased mine with some credit I had at Nordstrom. They are very stylish, but the truth is that my Tieks are much more comfortable after a long day on my feet. Both shoes have a similar price, so if you’re debating which pair to purchase, I would go with the California Navy Tieks.
The Nene 2fer Knit Midi Dress was very pretty and fit great, but it wasn’t quite my style. The top portion was a rib knit and I’m just not drawn to rib knit tops (I prefer softer knits). I also didn’t care for the stripes. Had the dress been solid navy blue (or better yet, a floral print!), I would have been more inclined to keep it. But since it wasn’t a perfect match for my style, I ultimately decided to return the midi dress.
What I Kept from My Fix
I’ve been supplementing my closet with lots of new maternity clothes from PinkBlush, ASOS and Thyme Maternity these days, with only left room in my budget to keep one item from this month’s fix. Here is the list of what I decided to keep (and to return).
Meruna Maternity Mesh Detail Knit Top from Skies are Blue Maternity ($54) – KEEP
Kent Maternity Capri Skinny Jean from Lila Ryan ($98) – return
Malika Perforated Ballet Flat from Report Footwear ($45) – return
Gallen Maternity Lattice Detail Blouse from Eden Society ($58) -return
Nene 2fer Knit Midi Dress from Le Lis ($74) – return
