Today was one of those late-April Michigan days that the weather tried so hard to be nice, but it just didn’t work. Chilly, overcast and on the verge of a sprinkle all day long; I needed an outfit to keep me warm and also feel like spring. Luckily, my newest top extender from Grace & Lace arrived last week and I have been brainstorming how to incorporate it into an outfit. Fashion inspiration finally arrived today. I love it when I find a new ensemble hiding in my closet and today’s look of navy, floral and lace was perfect for a chilly spring day.

I’m trying out something new on the blog today. Rob and I actually sit down and plan all of our blog posts out a month in advance. Today, I’m embracing my inner free-spirit and sharing an unscheduled fashion post just because it was too good not to share. I’d love to know what you think!
Anyway, back to the outfit… you’ve already heard about the top extender. It’s the latest in my growing collection from Grace and Lace. This particular one is a pointed lace extender. I honestly don’t know the exact color, but I think it’s bisque.
I paired the extender with the Lydia Floral Print Key-Hole Blouse from Collective Concepts that I received way back in my 9th fix.
The floral added a little springtime flare to my outfit and this particular top extender was a perfect match. I also love that the top extender added a little extra coverage in the blouse’s keyhole, which made the blouse even more appropriate for work in my kindergarten classroom.
I accessorized the outfit with my Kendra Scott necklace, a white and rose gold tone watch, my Gorjana shimmer bar bracelet. I’ve owned a few of these items for quite some time and I found some similar current items that are avaialbe in-store now. Some are an incredible bargain!
The navy pants are Freida Skinny Jeans from Mavi that arrived in my 31st fix and the cardigan is a few years old from Old Navy. There is no perfect sweater or floral blouse for this ensemble. If you own a great cardigan and a coordinating blouse, you’re all set. I found a few similar pieces online in case you’re on the hunt :)
Of course, if you’re a Stitch Fix customer, you could always pin an image from this post and request the Lydia Floral Print Key-Hole Blouse from your stylist.
And the shoes… well they are Tieks! The Lovestruck pair is my absolute favorite because the metallic look just sort of goes with everything. One day I am going to completely wear these out from all the miles I put on them and on that day I am going to ugly cry all over the place.
(And yes, this pair really is as comfortable as everyone says.)
So now I’ve got to ask… what did you think about today’s post? My Stitch Fix posts are always a hit (you probably stop by check out what arrived in my fix) and I’ve been thinking of sprinkling in a few outfit of the day posts from time to time. I would greatly appreciate any feedback you have to give. After all, Rob and I write on the blog for you. Please leave a comment with your thoughts – we always read every word you take the time to share.
And I’ll see you this Sunday with my newest Stitch Fix box :)
