I have decided to go back on the Whole 30 right after Easter. I’ve begun to slip back into so many poor eating habits and I need a jump start to kick my sugar habit, stop eating in front the TV and start eating clean again. So, Whole30 here I come!
For 30 days, I’m making a vow to take better care of myself: which includes more activity, strengthening my sleep cycle so I get more rest and eating only foods that make me healthier. I’m saying goodbye to sugar, legumes, dairy, grains and alcohol. And there’s no cheating. Staying on track can be tough, but I have learned from past experience that I feel great by the end of my Whole30. The hardest part is meal planning. It’s hard to find creative ways to keep eating clean because you can only eat grilled chicken and salad with oil & vinegar so many times.
Thankfully, inspiration to persevere and find creative food ideas isn’t too hard to find. You just have to know where to look. Instagram has become one of my favorite sources for reminders in the importance of eating well and recipe ideas and I’ve rounded up 8 of my favorite Whole 30 Instagram accounts to share with you today.
Are you ready?
Official Whole 30 Instagram Account
Let’s start at square one: with the official @Whole30 Instagram account. This account rounds up the best content from all around Instagram using the #whole30 hashtag. While the photos and memes are often entertaining, it’s also a great source of the latest Whole30 news, recipes and inspiration. Click to follow on Instagram.
Whole 30 Approved
There are ALWAYS new packaged foods to be discovered that are Whole30 compliant and I love following @Whole30Approved. In fact, it’s one of my very favorite Instagram accounts. Reading labels takes so LONG and every single item shared on this Instagram account is not just compliant, but approved to eat by Melissa Hartwig, one of the Whole30 founders. It takes some of the research and guesswork out of my time on the Whole30. Click to follow on Instagram.
Whole 30 Recipes
So your kitchen is stocked full of fresh organic meats and produce and some key ingredients from the Whole 30 Approved Instagram account, but you aren’t quite sure what to make with all that nutritious food. That’s where @Whole30Recipes comes in! The account is an OFFICIAL Whole 30 account so you can rest assured that every recipe shared on on the feed is truly Whole30 compliant. They often feature guest-posts from popular paleo and Whole30 bloggers, which could help you discover even more great Instagram accounts to keep you motivated during your Whole30! Click to follow on Instagram.
Melissa Hartwig
Melissa Hartwig co-authored the books It Starts with Food and the Whole30 book, which makes her the self-proclaimed “Whole30 headmistress”. The @Melissa_Hartwig account gives a behind the scenes look at the life of the woman behind the brand. She’s a tell-it-like-it-is motorcycle enthusiast, fitness guru, and former drug addict (16 years clean) who truly does live the Whole30 lifestyle. If you’re looking for inspiration during your Whole30 or even what life after the Whole30 looks like, Melissa Hartwig is your girl (big hair and all). Click to follow on Instagram.
PaleOMG
I love following the @paleomg account of Juli Bauer. It’s a mix of fashion, fitness and food. Juli is also the author of a paleo cookbook and she often shares recipes on her Instagram. Many of her recipes are Whole30 compliant, but not all. Make sure you read the recipe carefully if you plan to eat it during your Whole30. Click to follow on Instagram.
Clean Eats Clean Treats
If you’re looking for healthy, clean meal options during or after your Whole30, @cleaneats_cleantreats is a great account to follow on Instagram. Shannon’s account is not strict Whole30, so you will need to look carefully at every recipe (that pizza she recently shared is most definitely NOT Whole30), but occasionally she will post a real gem of a recipe that is compliant. Click to follow on Instagram.
Whole Sisters
The @wholesisters are a sibling blogging team that share clean, healthy recipes. I particularly love their Dump Ranch recipe, which is completely compliant! Just beware the non-Whole30 food and remember not to eat any fries or chips! Click to follow on Instagram.
Nom Nom Paleo
Michelle Tam is the chef behind @nomnompaleo and she serves up the most mouth-watering meals, it’s kinda hard to believe they’re all healthy. Pay careful attention to the recipes, because paleo foods are not always Whole30 compliant, but there are always a few great Whole30 recipes in her feed. Click to follow on Instagram.

My List of Whole30 Essentials
My Whole30 starts on Monday and I am ready to get my energy back in the afternoon without having to rely on a sugar rush.
I’m ready to feel good after eating instead of uncomfortable.
I’m ready for my jeans to fit again.
I am READY.
You can read more about the science behind the Whole 30 by checking out It Starts with Food. For meal planning tools and recipes, check out the Whole 30 cookbook. For where to shop and what to buy (it is SO intimidating when you gear up for your first-ever Whole 30), check out this blog post. I make it very easy for you to fill your pantry and refrigerator with quality, real foods that are totally compliant.
A Great Breakfast for Your Whole30
I have learned from experience that breakfast is often the most difficult part of being on the Whole30. Cereal, toast and yogurt are no longer options, and it’s really hard to get creative when you are in a rush to arrive at work on time in the morning. Which is why you DEFINITELY need to check out my Whole30 breakfast post. It’s one of our most-read posts for a reason.
The Whole30 is so much easier when you have a meal plan for th week and fresh food prepared ahead of time. And having a little extra inspiration in my Instagram feed is also incredibly helpful!
