Thirty weeks into this pregnancy and I can’t believe I only have a two more fixes left before baby Gavin is scheduled to arrive. Is it weird that I just measured the duration of my pregnancy based on my monthly Stitch Fix shipments? Probably. But as my body continues to grow, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find clothes that match my style and make me feel attractive and presentable to the outside world. Thankfully, the stylists at Stitch Fix have helped to keep me well-dressed during this pregnancy and feeling like me. This month’s fix was no exception and I’m thrilled to share my May Maternity Stitch Fix Review with you today.

How Stitch Fix Works
Before we dive in, let me give you a little background information on Stitch Fix and how this amazing service works.
Stitch Fix is an online styling service for men and women. They also offer petite, plus, and maternity styling services.
It’s super easy to get started. Just visit StitchFix.com and create your FREE style profile. This brief, but concise survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and allows you to share everything about your sizes, style preferences, if you’re expecting a baby, even how much you prefer to spend on different types of clothing. The style profile is completely free to set up and there is no obligation to purchase anything.
When you are ready, you can schedule your first fix. At that point, you will be matched with a personal stylist who will review your style profile and hand-select five items just for you. You will be charged a $20 styling fee, but shipping is free and the $20 will be deducted from the price of anything you wish to keep from your fix.
When your fix arrives, you have three days to try all of the items on in the comfort of your home. Your stylist will include a personal note and suggestions for how to style each item in your fix.
Keep what you love, check out online and return any unwanted items in the prepaid shipping envelope that is included in your fix. Stitch Fix offers free returns and exchanges. Best of all, you automatically save 25% on your entire fix if you decide to keep everything in your shipment. This magical moment has happened to me a few times. Here is one of my best fixes ever.
Stitch Fix doesn’t have to be a subscription service. Rather, it is designed to fit your budget and schedule. You can set up your account to receive automatic fixes each month, or manually log in to receive seasonal fixes or any time you have a special occasion coming up, like the time I requested a fix that was filled with holiday dress options.
Stitch Fix is hands-down my favorite way to shop for clothes because it is just so easy. They even offer shoes and accessories! If you are short on time, don’t particularly enjoy the trip to the mall, or are overwhelmed by all of the options in traditional online shopping. Try Stitch Fix today – it just might change how you feel about shopping.
My usual maternity stylist, Jodi, wasn’t available for this month’s fix so I had a new stylist – Kate. Even though Kate had never styled me before, she reviewed my style profile and Stitch Fix history to send a really great fix my way. Are you ready to check out my May Maternity Stitch Fix review?
Agnes Lace Sleeve Maternity Knit Top: Keep
This may have been Kate’s first time styling me, but she tuned into my personal style right away when she sent me this Agnes Lace Sleeve Maternity Knit Top from Loveappella Maternity ($54). Stitch Fix listed the color as “off-white” but I think it’s more of a very light heather gray.
It doesn’t really matter how you categorize the color, this Agnes Lace Sleeve Maternity Knit Top had all my favorite things going for it: lightweight for spring, a soft neutral color and lace detail. The $54 price tag also fit within my clothing budget this month.
This was such an easy and fun look to style. I paired the Agnes Lace Sleeve Maternity Knit Top with my Super Skinny Maternity Jeans (don’t let the name fool you – these are so comfy and look a little more professional than distressed jeans). I also added a neutral tassel necklace from Loft (great price!), a slim taupe Fossil watch (similar here) and my Romantic Blush Tieks.
Now that warm weather has finally arrived in Michigan, I’m thrilled to start wearing my Tieks again on a regular basis. Especially since my ever-expanding baby bump has made it particularly challenging to put on shoes and socks each day. I love that I can put on my Tieks in a few seconds time using only one hand with minimal bending and belly squishing. And the Romantic Blush is my favorite pair to wear in the spring and summer. Curious about Tieks? You can find answers to all of your questions in my very honest Tieks review.

Apollo Lace Back Open Cardigan: Return
I received a gorgeous navy blue Apollo Lace Back Open Cardigan from Tea N Rose ($54) in my February fix and was so tempted to keep it, but deep down I knew that I wouldn’t reach for a navy blue sweater often enough to justify the expense. I reluctantly returned the sweater, but left a note that I would love to try it on in a lighter color (like tan, gray, or blush.) One thing I love about Stitch Fix is that my stylists looks at so much more than just my style profile when she selects items for my fix. Kate really did her research and I was pleasantly surprised to see that she sent another Apollo Lace Back Open Cardigan my way! This time around, Kate sent a gray sweater my way (although I kept calling it tan or brown and was shocked to see that the color was listed as gray).
This looks like a basic cardigan from the front, but it has a lace panel that’s a surprising pretty party in the back. (In other news, I pray to God that I don’t look this wide from behind – this photo is evidence of how much I love you, dear blog reader. I love the sweater but wasn’t fond of my rear appearance in this photo at all.)
My pregnancy wardrobe is very limited and I had such a difficult time finding a top to pair with this cardigan. White was too bright for it and I wished I had something in ivory or off-white. I ultimately remembered the black striped (non-maternity) tank that I recently purchased and slipped it on along with a pair of slim black maternity dress pants. I kept the taupe watch (similar) and wore the Perry Street Olivia necklace that came in my Rocksbox. I also added my Matte Black Tieks. It was a great neutral ensemble.
Can I just gush to all of the pregnant ladies out there about these pants? I purchased them from Thyme maternity and I love that they fit so much like my Emer pants from Margaret M. If you’re a long-time Stitch Fix customer (or a member of the huge Stitch Fix BST Facebook group), you’re probably familiar with the Emer pants. Women love them and I have gotten a lot of use out of my own Emer pants. These black maternity pants are a fabulous substitute for my black Emer pants while I sport this baby bump.

I ultimately decided to return the Apollo Lace Back Open Cardigan (again.) Just like last time, my decision ultimately came down to the color. This sweater was a closer match to my style, but it was still a little darker than I cared for and I literally only own one top that could be layered with it.
Wendel Maternity Straight Leg Pant: Return
Kate also included a pair of maternity pants in my fix. When I first saw the soft blue-gray color of the Wendel Maternity Straight Leg Pant from Liverpool ($78), I was so excited. And the fact that they were Liverpool brand got me even more excited. I own several pair of Liverpool pants and jeans that have come my way from Stitch Fix and they have the most incredible fit. I couldn’t wait to try this pair on.
Unfortunately, the Wendel Maternity Straight Leg Pant left me feeling a bit… underwhelmed. They fit just fine around the waist, but the cut of the pant didn’t quite fit my style. They were really baggy, which didn’t really do much for my pregnant body (or my self-confidence). If these pants had a more tailored look, they would have been keepers for sure.
If the uber-relaxed fit of the Wendel Maternity Straight Leg Pant is your style, I recommend pinning them for your stylist. The fabric was soft and comfortable and I know they would feel great on a particularly warm day. If you’re like me and prefer a more tailored fit, check out these maternity chino pants from Thyme Maternity. I recently purchased a pair on olive green and they are just my style! The stock comes and goes, so check back often and don’t be discouraged if they don’t have your size in stock right now.
