Hello and welcome back to a brand new subscription style box review! I’ve tried on a lot of fashion subscription boxes over the years, but I am so excited to share this one with you because it’s from a company that’s still fairly new to me: Fashom. I’ve only shared one Fashom review on the blog before and it was way back in 2019! Needless to say, a follow-up review was long overdue. If you follow us on Instagram, you may have seen a try-on video that I quickly recorded while Rob played outside with the kids earlier this summer. I had every intention of trying to blog about the box, but that kind of work takes days for me to create and I only had about an hour to spare, so I made my peace with the fact that it was the best I could manage and mentally prepared to check out online and call it a day.
Shortly after sharing the video, however, the CEO of Fashom reached out to me and asked If I would consider writing a full blog post of my review here on the blog. When I explained that I simply don’t have the time because I’m with the kids all day long, Fashom offered to sponsor the content to make my time worthwhile and help spread the word about their online styling service. Rob and I juggled our schedules so I could photograph everything while the kids were out of the house. I am so glad I had the opportunity to do a more formal try-on so I could focus more intently on my Fashom box without the worry of my children interrupting at any moment. I was able to slow down (in far better lighting than my little makeshift office) and comment more carefully the quality and fit of each garment. I was shocked at how much more I loved everything after trying it on a second time. This truly was an outstanding fashion subscription box that was every bit as joyful and satisfying to try on as a Stitch Fix shipment.
Today’s Fashom try-on is an extra fun one that just gets better and better and FULL of surprises, so keep on scrolling. Especially if you saw the IGTV video. I have updates to share with you!
Thank you so much to Fashom for sponsoring today’s blog post. Fashom Personal Styling Service at a Glance
Let’s cover a few quick facts about Fashom before we dive into a review:
Fashom is an online styling service for women sizes XS to 3X. Much like Stitch Fix and its other subscription box competitors in the fashion industry, Fashom provides a FREE online style quiz for customers to complete. When you are ready, you can schedule your first Fashom shipment and get connected with your own personal stylist. There is a $20 styling fee that covers the styling service, plus free shipping and returns. Best of all, there’s no styling fee when you order your first Fashom box.
What Makes Fashom Unique
Even though Fashom works much like most other personal styling services, this particular subscription box has a few features that make it unique and worthwhile to try, especially if you often find yourself frustrated by the prices of other styling services. Fashom tries very hard to offer clothes at a lower price point and offers a very competitive discount (customers automatically save 15% when you keep 3 or 4 items from your shipment and 30% for keeping everything from your style box.) The generous discounts help to make Fashom one of the cheapest clothing subscription services around.
If you’ve repeatedly been frustrated by the clothes received from other online style services and fashion subscriptions, you will LOVE the preview feature that Fashom offers to all of its customers. Fashom uses real stylists to hand-pick an assortment of styles that they think you will love and will send a preview of each item that she selected. At this point, YOU get to select which 5 items from the preview you wish to receive in your shipment. Fashom also offers free video calls with the styling team to ensure a box that’s a perfect fit for your personal style. It’s a great feature that certainly helps Fashom to rank among the best fashion subscription services for women.
I realize that I keep referring to Fashom as a fashion subscription box, but the shipments are not recurring. Rather, you can log in to your Fashom account and sign up for a shipment any time you are ready for a new box to come your way.
As for the brands, you may be happy to see a few familiar brands included in your Fashom box (such as Just Black, Democracy, and Kut from the Kloth) as well as an assortment of smaller brands to ensure a unique fashionable experience. All of the clothes are vegan and Fashom has also been working to add more sustainable clothing brands to their inventory.
There really is a lot to love about the personal styling service that Fashom has to offer. Now let me show you what arrived in my latest Fashom box and why I loved the clothes inside so much.
Sarina Top from Lovely Melody
In all honesty, I wasn’t exactly crazy about the Sarina Top from Lovely Melody ($42) when I first tried it on. There wasn’t anything wrong with the top. It was actually pretty cute and met all of my requirements: the Sarina Top was conservative, not too clingy, had a flattering v-neck cut, and flutter sleeves made from contrasting fabric that made it a lot more interesting than just a basic solid top. The main issue for me was the fact that it was a navy color. I just don’t gravitate toward navy tops because they always seem to have a little too much blue for pairing with denim, and a black pant/navy shirt combo always feels like two pieces of clothing that just shouldn’t be worn together.
I wasn’t quite ready to embrace denim or black pants with a navy shirt, I paired the Sarina Top with a pair of white cropped jeans (similar) and some white strappy sandals. I was shocked at how much I loved this outfit. It was great for a summer get-together and would also be perfect for the classroom on an extra hot day.
It is worth noting that the Sarina top was very loose-fitting on me, even though it was a size small. Nine months ago, this would have instantly become my favorite shirt because it was dark, flowy, and hid everything. I’ve worked really hard to change my lifestyle and lost a lot of weight this year, so the Sarina Top was actually a touch too baggy on me, but if you prefer to wear looser-fitting tops, this one might be perfect.
I was so pleasantly surprised by the Sarina top, I decided to do something that felt downright crazy (for me) and style the top with a slim-cut pair of black pants (similar) and black pumps (similar). The sleeves of the top featured a black and white print, which helped me get past my hesitancy to mix navy and black. And I’m glad for the confidence boost because this was such a great look! I love my leggings, jeans, and comfy clothes; but sometimes it just feels good to dress up a little.
I start to freeze like a popsicle any time I step into an air-conditioned room, so I wanted to add an extra layer to the outfit. My white denim jacket (similar) was perfect for the job! It created a timeless colorblock-inspired look.
I was thoroughly enjoying myself at this point and wanted to keep the black pants, but dress down the look a bit, so I traded the black pumps for my Matte Black Tieks. This outfit was exactly my style. I’ve been spending a lot of time helping a few friends decorate their classrooms for the new school year. All the time at school has been filling me with so much nostalgia, and this outfit officially had me reminiscing about my days in the classroom. It was a perfect, classic teacher outfit (and also appropriate for a busy professional mom.)
Jacki Hacci Top from Natural Life
After having so much fun with the Sarina Top, was finally ready to try on another item from my Fashom box, so I reached for the Jacki Hacci Top from Natural Life ($39.) I fell in love with this top during my quick try-on video, so it wasn’t surprising that I still loved it this second time around. The Jacki Hacci top was lightweight, flowy, breathable, and had the cutest little flutter sleeves. The style of the top was very versatile and easily transitioned from dressy to casual. Keep scrolling and you’ll see what I mean.
I initially kept on the black pants (similar) and Tieks to create another cute teacher outfit with the Jackie Hacci top. I must have gotten distracted while I was shooting because I completely forgot to get a full-body photo of this outfit, but you can see that it had a flattering fit that was slightly fitted but still had a bit of flow. The flutter sleeves were a sweet touch and I loved that the armholes were an appropriate size. (There was no risk here of showing half the world my bra every time I lifted my arm!)
I also paired the Jacki Hacci Top with a pair of skinny jeans (similar) and strappy sandals (similar), for a more relaxed look – which is perfect for my current lifestyle of full-time mommy who tries to squeeze in a little work on the side. I loved everything about this outfit and would easily wear it to run errands, get lunch with friends, take the kids to the park on a cooler summer day, even for a casual night out with Rob. The simple feminine top in a neutral color with easy-care instructions (it’s washable!) was so perfect for me.
I still had more clothes to try on, but I wasn’t quite ready to finish styling the Jackie Hacci top, so I threw on my current go-to denim shorts and a comfortable pair of black flip-flops. The shorts and flip-flops have been two key parts of my summer uniform, and I’m happy to report that the Jackie Hacci top fits perfectly into the rotation (and is a step up from the Old Navy t-shirts I’ve been living in all summer.)
Lily Modal Top from Heimious
Of all the items I tried on from my Fashom style box, the Lily Modal Top from Heimious ($46) was by far the most surprising. When I first took it out of the box, I noticed right away that this shirt had a very different silhouette than my usual style. It was cropped, boxy, and had big armholes. The color was pretty, but I was just not feeling it. I like my shirts fitted and to gracefully hit lower on my hips. The first time I tried on the Lily Modal Top, I quickly threw it on with a pair of shorts that also came in my Fashom box (keep scrolling to see those). I was in a hurry to try everything on before while the house was quiet, and I didn’t really give them a chance. This time around, I had the time to style the Lily Modal Top more intentionally, so I put my skinny jeans (similar) and strappy sandals (similar) back on and added a simple gold disc necklace.
Holy wow, who is this girl, and what is this shirt that she’s wearing?
Imagine my shock at kinda sorta loving the Lily Modal Top. The fit was a bit boxier than my typical comfort level, but I can start to understand a little bit about why clothing designers make shirts like this (and why some women love to buy them.)
This probably isn’t going to be my favorite shirt of the summer or the one I reach for every day, but I surprised myself by putting the Lily Modal Top on my “maybe” list of things to keep from my Fashom style box.
Julie Floral Tank with Back Detail from 7th Ray
If you feel like my Fashom try-on box keeps getting better and better, you are not alone. I was having so much fun trying everything on and I knew that things were about to get really good when I tried on the Julie Floral Tank with Back Detail from 7th Ray ($39). I fell in love with this top when I saw it peeking out of the Fashom box packaging. The floral print alone was the perfect mix of feminine and neutral. I am picky about floral prints, but this black and pink floral was exactly my style, and it had a fun little party in the back (you’ll see what I mean in a minute). I kept things pretty basic and styled the Julie Floral Tank with Back Detail with the same skinny jeans (similar) and sandals (similar) that paired so well with the previous tops from my Fashom box.
The Julie Floral Tank with Back Detail was perfectly suited to my style. It was fitted without being clingy, and the arm openings were appropriately sized for a little modesty.
And can we talk a minute about the back of the shirt? The contrasting stripe fabric added a fun and unexpected playful pop in the back and the button detail added a nice dressy touch. I seriously can’t decide which view of the shirt I love more – the front or the back.
The Julie Floral Tank with Back Detail looked great with jeans, but I live and breathe for comfort and was really curious to see how it looked with a pair of black leggings and my black flip-flops. I think the top really elevated my otherwise dress-for-comfort look, and I loved that the top was long enough in the back to provide a little extra coverage.
I threw on my favorite distressed denim jacket to complete the look and was officially in love. The Julie Floral Tank with Back Detail was truly a chameleon that could be styled up or down. This one was a keeper for sure.
Chloe Frey Hem Shorts from Just Black
With four tops tried on, only one item remained in my Fashom style box: a pink pair of Chloe Frey Hem Shorts from Just Black ($52). I’m not typically one to wear pink pants or shorts of any kind, but I tried them on with the Julie Floral Tank with Back Detail. This outfit was such a stunner for the summer!
I’m pleased to also report that the shorts were a perfect fit. Not too loose, not too tight, and stayed in place without sagging. Here’s a quick look at the shorts from the back. Even though they were a bit out of my usual comfort zone of neutral-only shorts and pants, the Chloe Frey Hem Shorts from Just Black were definite keepers and I give a lot of credit to my Fashom stylist for sending bottoms my way that were just daring enough to encourage me to push the envelope on my comfort level, but not so bold that I rejected them without giving them a chance.
What I Kept from my Fashom Box
After trying everything on from my Fashom style box a second time, I had some serious thinking to do. When I first tried on all the clothes, I figured I would probably keep the gray Jacki Hacci Top, black Julie Floral Tank with Back Detail and I was seriously considering the pink Chloe Frey Hem Shorts from Just Black ($52). But after trying everything on a second time, I was seriously tempted to keep everything from my Fashom box. So I did some quick calculations with the Fashom discounts to see where I stood.
Sarina Top from Lovely Melody ($42)
Jacki Hacci Top from Natural Life ($39)
Lily Modal Top from Heimious ($46)
Julie Floral Tank with Back Detail from 7th Ray ($39)
Chloe Frey Hem Shorts from Just Black ($52)
If I had just decided to keep the gray top, floral top and shorts, those three items would have cost a total of $110, which is already a significant savings from their original prices of $130, thanks to the automatic 15% discount from purchasing three items from my Fashom box. But Fashom also offers a 30% discount for customers who choose to keep all five items from their shipment. The total value of my Fashom box was $218, but I was able to keep everything for $132.60 thanks to the 30% discount. I decided to give my closet a little boost and keep everything from my Fashom box. Here’s a quick screenshot of how the math worked out.
And there you have it! I was over the moon for my entire Fashom box. It truly was a pleasure for me to try everything on for a second time.
It’s rare for me to keep everything in a shipment from any company. I usually have a small bank of credit available in my style box accounts from referral links on the blog, but I typically try to conserve my credit and just select one or two favorite items to keep. This time around, I couldn’t resist the desire to keep everything from my Fashom box, so I went all-in and took advantage of that 30% discount. If you love getting styled fashion boxes like Stitch Fix, I highly recommend trying Fashom. They just might surprise and delight you as much as they did for me!

You look amazing! You have lost SO MUCH WEIGHT! I started trying to lose weight the same time as you and have lost a whopping 4 pounds :)
I know you had your special program. I’m not really up for that but would be grateful if you could share any other helpful tips like meals that really worked for you, eating windows, or anything else.
Thanks so much!
Maria Gavin says
Hi and thank you! I can’t tell you how many times prior to this program I looked at Rob and said “that’s it. We’re eating healthy!” and then 4 days later, we were back to eating the same type of junk. There were SO many components to the Burn Fat and Feast program that worked together to maximize my progress, it’s hard to share a few simple tips, but I will say this. At the same time that I was actively trying to meet my goals, Rob got inspired to start watching what he ate. He didn’t do one bit of exercise and only watched his calories. I was using the My Fitness Pal app on my phone to track everything I ate, so Rob downloaded the app and did the same thing. The app is nice because you enter your current weight and select a weight loss goal. It then calculates your daily calorie goal and tracks everything you eat. Rob has lost 40 pounds since December JUST by tracking his calories. He’s a guy, so I know the weight falls off faster, but I was astounded that he was able to lose so much without one bit of exercise.
A few other simple tips that have helped were to cut gluten and dairy from my diet 90% of the time and to track my macros within the My Fitness Pal app. The regular goal is 50% carbs, 20% protein and 30% fat (sounds complicated, but MFP literally calculates all of it for you and shows you a little graph how your daily diet breaks down.)
The carb cycling and fasting gets pretty complicated and I just eat what/how I’m told in terms of calories and macros each day. I’m sure you could google “carb cycling” or “intermittent fasting” to try and get some of the benefits on your own at home.

That is rare for you to keep it all! I love how it all looks on you and may try this service. You do a great job of styling and describing the details.
