Summer is here and the Gavin family is ready for some fun! We have been loving every minute of sunshine that has come our way and this summer has been the most fun that our family can remember. We don’t have room in our budget right now for big family trips, but that has not been a problem. Life with an almost-two-year-old has really helped us to get out of the house, slow down, and enjoy the simpler pleasures in life. Even the backyard has proven to be more exciting than I imagined, thanks to the garden hose, sandbox, and sprinkler. But when we are ready to explore the world beyond our backyard, it’s a short walk to even more outdoor summer memories and we try to stay comfortably stylish every step of the way, thanks in no small part to Stitch Fix.
Thank you to Stitch Fix for sponsoring today’s post. You know how much Rob and I love receiving Fixes in the mail – so this partnership was right up our alley! Schedule a Kids Fix by July 13 for your chance to win $10,000 toward a family vacation, plus Stitch Fix credit. Keep reading to find out all of the details!
One of our family’s favorite walking destinations is a walking trip to the local public library. Dessa loves getting new books to read at home, but she also enjoys so many outdoor features of the property and we love that it’s totally free.
Dessa’s outfit came from Stitch Fix Kids and it’s perfect for making outdoor memories. She was cool, comfortable and completely adorable as she explored the library grounds.
Even the book return bin is fun when you are two years old. Apparently, there’s nothing better than opening the dropbox and saying “bye-bye” to a story when we are finished with it.
New books are fun to read, but my little nature lover couldn’t resist playing with the leaves by her feet. I just let Dessa play to her little heart’s content because I know those books will be instantly treasured the moment we walk in the door at home.
Gardens, bumblebees, steps, and so much more. It’s astounding how much joy Dessa can experience as she explores the simple layout of our local library’s grounds.
The best way to end a family summer outing is with an icy-cold treat and we have already made more trips to the local ice cream stand than I can count! It’s a short walk away from our house (and the library) and our little non-dairy explorer loves getting a small cone with a frozen Dole Whip. She’s always happy to share a few bites with mom and dad – which is good because we usually lick the top off the cone for her to minimize the mess!
Stitch Fix Makes It a Breeze to Dress the Whole Family
Summer always flies by in the blink of an eye and the very last thing I want to do is waste a moment of our last few months as a family of three with trips to the store or scrolling endlessly through online shopping sites trying to keep all of us outfitted this summer. Dessa has become keenly aware that when mommy sits at a computer, she is “working.” The work brings me joy, but I also balance it with quality family time far away from my laptop.
The nice thing about Stitch Fix is that they have expert stylists that can style everyone in the family in clothes we love that suit our personal preferences. I have been a Stitch Fix customer for several years and love that they even help to keep me well-dressed and comfortable during my pregnancy. Rob can’t get enough of the shoes and button-downs they send his way and Dessa loves the stickers and personal touches that come in her shipments from Stitch Fix Kids. No subscriptions are required and the best part is that I can log in on my phone to quickly schedule a shipment and get right back to our family activities. The clothes are effortlessly delivered right to our door so we can try on the clothes at home in between our summer activities. Stitch Fix makes returns easy and free so we can keep what we love, send back the rest in the pre-paid envelope that comes in our fixes, and return it to any USPS mailbox – we usually take a stroll through town to get to our local post office, too!
Rob and I are big believers that great summer memories don’t have to cost a fortune. We keep our entertainment and vacation spending very low each month because Dessa is just as happy to explore the library lawn as she is to go on a big, lavish trip. Of course, we would never turn down $10,000 toward the family vacation of our dreams – which is just what you could win during the Stitch Fix Summer Sweepstakes!
