As I was planning for my wedding, Instagram quickly became my #1 source of inspiration. Yes, Pinterest is wonderful and my Happily Ever After Pinterest board has been a great place to collect and curate ideas, but Instagram is truly where it’s at. It’s a great, easy place to see the current trends. With the Pinterest algorithm, I often found myself seeing the same pins over and over again. But not on Insta…the very nature of Instagram is so different from Pinterest and all of the images in your feed have recently been posted. They don’t circle back around so they always feel fresh. I have rounded up my favorite Instagram wedding accounts to follow while I planned my own wedding.
Syle Me Pretty Weddings
My favorite Insta account to follow is definitely @smpweddings. Every single photo that Style Me Pretty shares is completely stunning and had me drooling. This was also my favorite wedding blog to click through as I was seeking inspiration, so it’s no surprise that their Instagram is also unparalleled.
While many of the images shared on Style Me Pretty Weddings were completely out of my league, the @loverly Instagram account injected a little real-life fun into my feed. The still provide plenty of over-the-top inspiration, but they also repost real wedding photos with the hashtag #soloverly. While Style Me Pretty offers exquisite style and elegance, Loverly highlights the fun of weddings and engagements.

Hey Gorgeous Events
If you can’t get enough of the romantic fantasy wedding experience, you need to follow @heygorgevents, the Instagram account of Rhiannon Bosse. I may not know how to pronounce her name, but I do know that I adore every single photo she shares on Instagram. Rhi is the owner of Hey Gorgeous Events, a boutique wedding, event and floral artistry business based in my home state of Michigan. I’ve never met Rhi (and I’m fairly certain I could never afford her, but gosh I love what she does!)
A few years ago I went to a lovely floral workshop with an out of the ordinary motivator. My main goal in attending was secretly to learn to make smaller bridal bouquets except I never told anyone this (it seemed so silly!). At the time, I noticed a trend with my florals; I would always add and add and add to my bouquets until they ended up being these ginormous bunches of blooms. And I would get remarks from people on how the bouquets I created were ‘too’ big and how they were very ‘unrealistic’ and guess what? I started to feel like a flawed artist. But THEN! I realized, florals bring me and just about every other person I know, so so so much tremendous joy. My life surely changed the moment I decided to tackle this as my career so regardless of how I did things and how they make be a little different, why would this even matter? To think my florals are too big is a little like saying there’s too much joy in the world. There can never be enough joy. So today I’m embracing my style, being me, doing things my way and feeling very content about it. // This creation is off into the hands of the beautiful and expecting @ashleyslaterphotography today for her maternity shoot with @emilyjane. Celebrate what makes you YOU. Happy Sunday, friends xoxoxo #hgeblooms #rsflowers #theyearofcontent #bigblooms
How He Asked
There is something so magical about being engaged. I found myself so excited about wedding planning and so giddy about anybody’s love story. @HowHeAsked was filled with photos of newly-engaged couples celebrating their engagements. Rob and I don’t have any photos of his proposal (it was perfectly just the two of us), but it sure is fun to sneak a peek into the proposals of other couples.
“There are some places around town where Jess and I have experienced our deepest connections. Whether it was where we had an amazing conversation, shared a kiss or both felt moments of vulnerability, there are just a few sentimental places in our hearts and in our minds that we both know are very “us”. Because of how special these places are, I knew I wanted to include every single one of them in my proposal. When the day finally came, I made her believe I was working long hours while her friends and family took her all over town to find a note at each place waiting for her. At the last stop, it was me waiting for her, ready to ask her to spend the rest of her life with me…” This @shanecompany couple’s proposal has so much romance in it, we got the butterflies reading how sweet his words were. Every Last Detail Blog
If @loverly sprinkled in a little authentic wedding fun, @everylastdetailblog makes the perfect wedding a little bit more attainable. Lauren (the founder of ELDB) shares inspirational images that feel like they could have come from your friend’s wedding. The photos are simple and elegant, but not always on a mega budget. Speaking of budgets, this Instagram account regularly highlights and shares helpful tips for wedding planning, especially ways to smartly manage your wedding budget.
As if researching venues and catering services wasn’t hard enough, chances are good that you have (or will) run across some of the common “++” (plus-plus) signs that leave you wondering, “What are those? Why are they here? Could it be a typo? Is danger ahead?” All joking aside, this is a frequent question #ELDVList member @justsavethedate_kelly gets from a lot of her clients and being that wedding season is upon us, we thought we would give you a little insight on this familiar (and somewhat confusing) topic. Head over to TheELD.com to find out what the “Surprise” catering costs are and how to be prepared for them! #eldweddingtruths #educatedbride #eldweddingexpert

If seeing so many picture-perfect wedding details leaves you craving a more attainable wedding, @weddingwire is a great Instagram account to follow. They often regram images of real couples and weddings (especially #justsaidyes photos) and Wedding Wire also shares some very helpful lists and resources on Instagram. This Instagram account is more than just inspiration -- it is truly a helpful resource for anyone planning a wedding.
The Mrs. Box
Ok, so this account isn’t explicitly about weddings. Instead, @the_mrs_box on Instagram is all about the sweetest and most gorgeous little velvet heirloom boxes. The photos often feature vintage rings as well. I drool over every single one of these photos. I only wear one of my rings at a time (either my engagement ring or my wedding band if I’m going for a more casual look) and I can’t help but think that the ring I’m not wearing will look particularly stunning if it is stored in one of these little boxes. My favorite is The Havenhart.

Vintage meets whimsical at @BHLDN. The sister-store of @Anthropologie, this Instagram account features dresses, gifts, accessories and more from their online collection. Every image served as inspiration for my vintage-inspired wedding.
I follow many wedding photographers on Instagram and @nataliefranke is one of my favorites! She’s from the Northeast and many of her photos have a distinctly nautical theme. She also injects so much of her beautiful personality into her Instagram account and she helps to empower entrepreneurers and industry creatives. You should follow this Instagram account even if you’re not getting married -- the photos are an instant pick-me-up.
