My newest Stitch Fix box arrived this week and it was filled with pretty layers to keep me warm as fall weather sets in. My stylist Layla outdid herself once again. (spoiler alert – I kept it all!) If you’re not familiar with Stitch Fix, it’s an online styling service for women. You create a FREE online style profile and whenever you are ready, you can schedule your first fix. For a $20 styling fee, you will be matched with a personal stylist who will review your style profile and hand-pick 5 items just for you! The items are shipped to your home so you can try them on with clothes and accessories that you already own to know if they are just right for you.
This post contains affiliate links for your shopping convenience. We receive a small commission each time someone makes a purchase through one of our links, which helps to support the blog.
To check out, just log into your Stitch Fix account and leave feedback for each item. Keep the items you love and return everything else in the pre-paid shipping envelope that is included in your fix. The service costs only $20 per fix, which covers shipping, returns and your stylist’s services. If you choose to keep any items from your fix, the $20 cost is automatically deducted from the price of your clothes and if you keep EVERYTHING from your fix (like I did this time), you automatically save 25% on your entire fix. This amazing service is easy, fun and perfect for busy women who don’t have time to shop.
(Purse, pants, and blouse are all from Stitch Fix.)
Stitch Fix offers a subscription service (in which you can choose to receive a fix every month or every 2-3 weeks), but you don’t have to subscribe to frequent fixes. You can schedule a fix as often (or seldom) as your schedule and budget allows. I’m SO excited about this month’s fix that I’m giving away a $20 Stitch Fix gift card at the end of this post AND I’m hosting a link-up for other bloggers to share links to their own Stitch Fix blog posts. There will be lots of great Stitch Fix styling to click around and pin to your style board on Pinterest.
This post contains affiliate links, including my referral link to Stitch Fix. I receive a small commission each time someone signs up for Stitch Fix, which I use to offset the costs of my own fixes. If you enjoy the content and are considering signing up for Stitch Fix, I would greatly appreciate it if you sign up using any of the links in this blog post. Thanks! Now that I’ve filled you in on how Stitch Fix works, let’s dive in to this month’s fix!
Rebekah Blazer from Kensie
The first item that caught my eye was the Rebekah Blazer from Kensie ($88). I reached for it first and put it right on over the purple dress from my 10th fix I was already wearing. The purple and red made for a fun autumnal color combination. I was overjoyed to discover that the blazer fit perfectly. It was lightweight and not at all boxy. I love just about everything that Kensie creates and this feminine blazer was no exception.
The boots are from Enzo Angiolini and I purchased them a few years ago. They don’t make this style anymore, but I managed to find a similar pair on Amazon.
The blazer looked great with my purple dress, but I wondered how it would look with a pair of jeans for a chic weekend style. I tried it out with a pair of flair leg jeans I bought from Old Navy a few years ago and my brown wedge heels from Chinese Laundry.
I also added multiple necklaces to this look. The pink necklace is an older statement piece that I bought a few years ago but the smaller gold necklaces are both from Rocksbox and I wear each of them often. Rocksbox is my favorite jewelry rental service and you have the option of purchasing any items that arrive in your Rocksbox at a discount. You can read more about Rocksbox in this blog post.
The shorter necklace is from Kendra Scott and you can also purchase it on Amazon. I love the gold tones and the stone’s iridescent sparkle.
Jordyn Bootcut Pant from Liverpool
I was overjoyed to see that Layla also included a pair of dress pants in this month’s fix -the Jordyn Bootcut Pant from Liverpool ($88). My past 2 fixes have also included Liverpool pants in similar styles. I love both of those pants and I was hopeful that this new pair would also be a great fit. I was pretty sure that the pants would look amazing with the blazer, so I just added a scarf and tried the pants on right away.
They have a shorter inseam so flats were my only option with this particular pair of pants. The lower half of the pant leg was a little too wide to wear with riding boots. I tried those too and had too much fabric bunching around my knees. But it’s ok. A few months ago I was debating about which pair of Tieks to purchase. I ultimately decided on the Matte Black and they were perfect with these pants.
If you are debating about getting your own pair of Tieks, you can read my detailed review of them in my post An Honest Tieks Review.
The pants were a perfect fit. They didn’t have a zipper. Instead, they have a nice stretch and a wide waistband that makes them feel a lot like yoga pants. (LOVE!) It’s also nice to have a bootcut pair of pants in my collection for the days I want to take a break from my usual fall and winter attire of riding boots. And how amazing do these pants look with my Kensie blazer and a fun scarf? (The scarf was a gift from a student a few years ago.)
Potter Button Back Sweater from En Crème
The next item I tried on was a cream Potter Button Back Sweater from En Crème ($58). My stylist, Layla, acknowledged that she had sent me a similar cream sweater in a fix last year (which I love and you can check out here) but she said the back details on this sweater made it too good to pass up. Layla was right!
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this sweater was quite soft and not itchy at all. It had a nice drape and was very flattering. It was also very comfortable. I added a mix of rose gold and yellow gold jewelry, including my Jesse Ceramic White and Rose-Tone watch from Fossil (similar here), which complemented the cream nicely and made my outfit look weekend chic. It also looked great with the Sophia skinny jeans from Kensie that I received in my 4th fix. The brown boots are Enzo Angiolini that I found at Nordstrom a few years back. They sell a similar pair on Amazon.
Let’s talk for a minute about the back of the sweater. The front may look plain, but this cream sweater has a party in the back. With brown buttons that make way for a sheer, floaty layer, this sweater is surprisingly romantic in the back.
The back layer of the sweater is completely sheer (which is perfectly fine if you are comfortable with showing a little skin). My style is pretty conservative, so I added an off-white tank top underneath the sweater.
I actually own several of these layering tanks from Old Navy and wear them almost every single day. They are great basic pieces to stock up on! I own about 12 white tanks, 2 off-white and a couple of black ones. The white is my go-to layering piece.
