Michigan’s spring weather has finally begun to emerge. The days are still cool, but I’ve finally been able to take out a jacket and dress in lighter layers. I am so, so excited for more spring weather to come my way. In the meantime, these cozy spring neutrals were just my style.

There were so many classic pieces in this cool spring outfit, I barely even know where to start. Let’s begin by telling you about this gorgeous cargo jacket. This grayish-green jacket is a Stitch Fix exclusive from Market & Spruce (similar here) and I received it when I traveled to their headquarters in San Francisco this past fall. I only had a few opportunities to wear it before the cold winter weather rolled in so I’m happy to be introducing it back into my spring wardrobe. The fabric is lightweight and much softer than most cargo jackets on the market. It also has an unexpectedly fun black and cream polka dot lining, which plays peekaboo when I roll up the cuffs.
If you’re not a Stitch Fix customer yet, this jacket might be just the motivation you need to finally bite the bullet and sign up. You can read more about my favorite way to shop in my most recent Stitch Fix review and also find out how to get the best clothes from Stitch Fix.
The cargo jacket alone wasn’t quite warm enough to wear on its own when temperatures were only in the high 40s, so I layered it over my new favorite cardigan and a basic white maternity t-shirt. This open front shawl collar cardigan is super-soft and just my style. I bought the “careless whisper” color and it’s a perfect light creamy color with a hint of blush. I could seriously wear this cardigan every single day. And it’s from Old Navy, so you know it’s a bargain. Just make sure you size down – an extra-small fit me (and the bump) perfectly!
Now, I have got to tell you about my jeans. They’re maternity jeans and they are absolutely perfect. I found them on Thyme Maternity and I was a little worried that they are called “super skinny maternity jeans”. I feared that they would be super tight and uncomfortable to move around in. That’s not the case at all. The denim fabric is quite soft and has a nice stretch, without sagging. I’ve worn these jeans a lot and they don’t sag at all. They also have a full-band across the belly, which is the softest and most comfortable band I’ve felt in a pair of maternity pants. It’s not too tight and not the least bit itchy. It actually feels a little bit silky. I have no idea how Thyme Maternity managed that, but I’ll take it. I’m telling you, these jeans are a pregnant woman’s dream come true. They also have a great price.
I kept my footwear very basic and comfortable with these these taupe desert wedge booties from Toms. They were warm enough for a chilly spring day, but the taupe color kept my look on the lighter side. Plus, you know that anything from Toms is guaranteed to be comfortable. (Toms also has an amazing linen espadrille version of this classic bootie that just screams spring.)
This was an easy and super-fun look to accessorize. I received this Kate Spade tote as a gift last year (similar here and here) and I love that it matches just about any daytime outfit. It’s also great for carrying around a bottle of water and snacks for when I get hungry.
I kept the wrist candy simple with a neutral beaded wrap bracelet and my silver Kate Spade watch. My particular bracelet came from Rocksbox, but I found similar bracelets from the same designer here, here, and here on TJ Maxx online!
There may be a lingering chill in the Michigan air, but with the right cozy spring neutrals I don’t mind the cold one bit!
