Christmas and New Year’s are over and with that comes a new year and new hopes for it. Lisa and I have plans for our diet that we will be starting this week and Liam is being sent back to his moms. Here are a couple of Xmas albums.

Neither Lisa nor I get around to posting much on this blog, but with the new year comes new adventures most of which we would like to chronicle on this site. Over the next few days I will be making a few changes to the site to help anyone who does read this keep up.
We are both going to change diets and start an eventual workout routine. I need to loose weight for health and sanity reasons tracking progress on this blog will help me my motivation. So keep up and help support us on our goal.
When I originally created this website for Lisa and I, I imagined a place for my family to be able to come and see what is going on in my life. All of that went out the window when my mother passed away in February. When you get down to basics this blog was for her. She wanted so much to be a part of what was to come and I know it hurt her that I was going to be moving away. IT meant she wouldnt see my son as much and she wouldnt be able to be around me as much. It was a hard decision moving down here but it was done and now i sit back and try to reflect on it, I wouldnt change my coming down here for anything, I just wish she would have had a chance to get to know Lisa better.
When they first met and I introduced Lisa as her future daughter in law, I wasn’t sure exactly how serious she though I was. She looked at me and just said “oh really?” I am hoping now that she was looking down on our wedding and seeing how perfect of a day it was, and hoping she knew how badly I wished she was there. Now the time has passed we have been married for a month and I can’t stop thinking about it.
But enough of the depressing crap. Lisa and I were married 1 month ago today. Things got super hectic trying to get everything together for our wedding and then for Lisa’s sisters wedding this month. But now that things have settled down we hope to get more posts and updated on the blog here. Ill leave you with a few wedding pics taken by one of Lisa’s friends. proffesional pics incoming in the next week hopefully.
It has been quite some time since there has been an update here from me. I am sorry, I just have 2 other blogs I work on so it is hard to focus much time here.
So what has been going on? Well we had Liam this past week. We went and picked him up from his mom’s last saturday, while also picking up some of my mom’s personal belongings after she past away. Everything went well for the most part. Those that know Liam also know how much of a pain he can be and I could tell he got to Lisa on more then one occasion.
We spent all day Wed, in Galveston. We went to Moody Gardens, the Beach and a few resteraunts. We ate WAY to much. 
But next week starts our pre-wedding diet:(.

Well, we’ve officially passed the one week mark in living together and I have to say it’s not what I thought it would be. It’s actually a lot more than I thought it would be. I knew I’d be happy being able to see Chris’s face everyday and to actually go out and do things together, but the comfort that I feel being at home with him just amazes me. We just hang out for a while when I get home from work, make dinner together and then relax. We watch our favorite shows and movies and it’s nice that we can lay on the couch together and he can read a book while I watch TV or play a game. It’s the best feeling in the world to be with the one you love.
And I think I’m adjusting to cooking and cleaning pretty well. I haven’t let things get out of hand yet and we work together on things, like taking out the trash and doing dishes. We have a set date night. Friday’s are going to be our movie nights or a dinner out night. Doing both right now isn’t as affordable as we’d like, but we decided on an either/or until Chris is working. We saw Friday the 13th last weekend for Valentine’s Day. Hehe, yes a gory violent slasher on V-day. We’re good like that.
Speaking of Valentine’s Day, our first together was great, amazing. Chris got me flowers and a bear and some candy, and even wrote me a song and got a frame to put it in. I couldn’t have asked for anything more, and would have been perfectly happy with just being with him for the day but the extras were much appreciated.
I’m sure as time goes by we’ll get on each other’s nerves a bit and probably have an argument or two, but nothing will take away from the comfort and happiness I feel knowing that we’re finally together and we’ll never have to be apart again.
Coming into the weekend we couldn’t help but be excited. The week in general had been loaded with unpacking and getting the apartment setup. We had planned the weekend a few weeks back. It was a big weekend for us as it was to be one big weekend to celebrate my Birthday, our 9 month anniversary as well as Valentines day.
Valentines day was the day we settled to do everything on. We had little celebrations for our anniversary and my birthday. We picked up a few supplies to make drinks, margeritas and Appletinis(blame JD). But as I was saying Valentines day was our big night. The morning started with us waking up and exchanging Gifts, we got up and went and had some breakfast at IHOP, our favorite breakfast stop. Then we came home and relaxed. For dinner we headed to Texas Roadhouse and then hit up a movie afterwords. It wasn’t elaborate but we had a great day.
Next years planning begins now!
I’ve been working on getting a website created for the wedding. I had one on another site but I wasn’t impressed with the way it turned out. I found the website I used tonight and created another. There is still some information missing, but for the most part the big stuff is there.
Today was another big day in the wedding planning. I won’t be able to give too many details, because Chris can’t read this and he’s not allowed to know, but today the plans for the wedding gained some real ground. My mother, sisters and Alyssa and I went to David’s Bridal and had my consultation for my gown and the others we needed. It was a very successful day for us, much more so than I expected. I wasn’t even sure I would find a dress that I even liked, and it turns out the one for me was the very first one I even tried on.
It was reasonably priced, though it could have been a couple hundred less for my liking. The alterations are what really make the price tag skyrocket. But, I was able to find a dress that I love and for that I can’t really complain. We also found Alyssa’s flower girl dress, which we’re going to reuse the month after mine and Chris’s wedding for Jennifer’s. Jennifer is my adopted sister who is getting married in August.
We also were able to find the bridemaid dresses for Shelly and Jen. They are going to be apple red, but of a different style. I think it’ll be nice for them to have a different look but it will all tie in together because of the color and the flowers, which will be the same.
We were able to also get our invitations. They are in red writing, with a raised heart design and the envelopes have a red insert. We also got some really cute napkins with a boy and girl kissing and our names underneath them 
I think Chris will like them too. I wish he could be more involved in these sorts of planning things, but I suppose its just the natural thing for guys not to be as involved. He probably would wish he wasn’t as involved if he actually got to be, it’s very tiring.
I’m exhausted from the day we had. Wedding dress fittings are really uncomfortable, especially if the shoes you’re using just to test the height you need are like shoes from hell. But it’s all worth it in the end to know that I’ll feel pretty when I walk down the aisle to become Mrs. Nixon
I have ended my lease and put my notice in at work. I have reserved the Uhaul truck and ordered boxes to pack. All that is left is to get off my ass and do it. It is about 2 weeks until the move and Lisa and I are getting more excited everyday. Planning our lives together and looking forward tot he time we will have.
I can’t help but start feeling a little of the remorse I am sure I will continue to feel for leaving my son and mom. With my mom in the hospital and Liam at that point in his life where he is open to the molding and learning it takes to grow into a self-respecting person, I really hate to have to leave it all behind. I know I will still get to see him after the move and I am going to try all I can to make sure it is as often as possible. I will come back to Dallas every couple of weeks and spend the day with him. What scares me is he will forget me and when the time comes to visit he won;t want to.
I am sure all will be well, I have a great life ahead of me and sometimes you have to cut your losses to move forward and start over. Keeping Liam a part of my life is top of my priorities once I am down there but I cant help the fear in the back of my mind.
Well, Chris and I were approved for the apartment. The current tenant will be leaving at the end of this month and my official move in date is February 7th. I’ve lived in the same house with my parents my entire life. I’m the baby and the last to leave the nest. It’s a huge deal for me. Chris has been out of his own for a while, so for him this isn’t quite the experience it is for me. We’re both thrilled to be moving in together and I know that it’s a big thing for him as far as moving in with ME. I am nervous and excited, and so many other things it’s hard to describe them all.
I’m not that great of a cook, and I’m not used to completely taking care of myself. It will take some patience on his part while I adjust to being .. well, an adult.
I’m going to fly up to Dallas on the day I sign the lease. I’ll get the paperwork out of the way and then go up there to help Chris finish packing up his stuff and load the U-Haul. The plan is for him to drive that and for me to drive the Mustang and head back down to Houston on Sunday the 8th and move into the apartment.
The big obstacle after the move in is Chris getting a job down here. There’s a possibility he could get a transfer to the Houston office of where he works now, but we’re not going to count our chickens before they’ve hatched. Either way we’ll be okay, we just will have to dial down our spending for a while. That should be super easy, especially since we’re planning a wedding for July….
