Welcome back for my April Stitch Fix review! This truly is my favorite day of the month because it’s always a treat to see what my personal stylist, Layla has in store. It’s a really good one and would have been a home run if the skirt included in the fix was more flattering on me. Ready to dive in?

Christiana Printed Pencil Skirt
The first item in my April Stitch Fix box was a Christiana Printed Pencil Skirt from Margaret M ($78). I wore the skirt with a pretty lace blouse I found at Marshalls last year and a peach vest I found at Loft a few years ago. The floral print was just gorgeous!
There was just one notable problem when I tried it on. Like all pencil skirts, this one made me look pregnant. Like, really pregnant. You can’t tell from this photo, but it was not a good look on me.
It’s a shame that my stomach always looks so round when I wear pencil skirts, because this outfit really was beautiful (especially with the necklace, bracelet and heels *similar* I paired with the skirt) I just wasn’t comfortable wearing it.
It’s a shame because the skirt really was beautiful! I know there are many women out there who love pencil skirts. If you are one of them, I highly recommend this skirt. It just doesn’t work out for me and my body type.
Milly Pointelle Detail Pullover Sweater
The next item in my fix was an off-white Milly Pointelle Detail Pullover Sweater from Mystree ($68). Like to many other items that have come my way lately, my first impression of this sweater was “grandma” and I was pretty doubtful. But, I have had inaccurate first impressions before, so I grabbed some black leggings, an off-white layering tank and my brown riding boots so I could try it on!
I have to say, once the sweater was on, it wasn’t too bad! It was a little plain on it’s own so I took the opportunity to accessorize accordingly. I received a crystal Sylvia necklace from Loren Hope in a recent Rocksbox and it paired perfectly with the sweater. (Most importantly, it didn’t catch on the knit.)
While this necklace may be a little pricey too own, I was able to rent it for a bargain with Rocksbox. As a Rocksbox member, I was also able to purchase the necklace at a discount.
The necklace was on, but I was still getting warmed up! It is still quite chilly in Michigan these days, so I added my denim jacket from Old Navy for an extra layer of warmth.
Now we were onto something! I especially love how the sweater was long enough to cover my rear end so I could comfortably (and confidently) pair it with leggings.
I still had several ideas for how to style this sweater and make it even more versatile, so I grabbed my Chiffon High-Low top extender from Grace and Lace to wear under the sweater.
Oh my word, this was a lovely combination! I’ve owned the extender for a while and it can be difficult to find tops to wear with it that are long enough in the back. The Milly Pointelle Detail Sweater was pretty great. Sometimes the non-ruffled edge peeked out a bit, but it wasn’t bad enough to discourage me from layering the two pieces.
I added a scarf to create a little added interest. The resulting outfit just kept getting better and better.
My very favorite combination using the Milly Pointelle Detail Pullover Sweater was pairing it with the high-low extender, Loren Hope necklace and the denim jacket.
Silva Button Front Top
My April Stitch Fix box also included a Silva Button Front Top from Skies are Blue ($54). It looks much like any other plaid shirt you would buy from Target. The only difference is that Layla picked this shirt out for me and sent it in the mail so I could save myself the trip to Target.
I tried on the top with the Briley jeans from Level 99 that came in my 33rd fix and the taupe Toms wedge booties that I recently got from Stitch Fix. DID YOU KNOW THEY NOW OFFER SHOES? I’m still squealing with delight over here.
You can order the booties online or just pin these to your style board on Pinterest and request them from your stylist in your next fix!
The blouse has tabs that you can roll up the sleeves and hold them in place, but I almost never use tab sleeves on my blouses. Instead, I prefer a standard roll. This way, the pretty polka dotted chambray cuff details get to play peekaboo.
I kept begging Layla for plaid items this past fall and then I sort of forgot about plaids when spring rolled around. I love this shirt because the pastels are perfect for reminding me that warmer weather is on the way! I accessorized this outfit with a pretty statement necklace I found in the BP section at Nordstrom (it had a great price!) and my Kate Spade watch.
